Abstract:

Publicsignisaspecialkindofstyle,whichisusedinpublictoshowinformationtothetourists.ThefactthatmoreandmoreforeignerscometoChinaonbusinessorforatourmakesthetranslationofpublicsignsimportantandnecessary.However,itisnotaneasyjobforaninterpretertotranslatethepublicsignscorrectly.Therefore,thestudyofpublicsignsandtheirtranslationbecomesanurgentandsignificanttask.Thethesisdiscussesthedefinition,classificationandfeaturesofpublicsignsandaimsatmakinganoverallstudyofChinesepublicsignsinscenicspotandtheirtranslation.Inthethesis,someoftheoriesandlinguisticrulesareappliedforthepurposeofresearchingthestrategiesoftranslatingpublicsigns.Thepurposeofthisthesisistoattractmoreattentiontothetranslationofthepublicsignsinscenicspotandtomakeitmorestandardandnormative.

旅游景区公示语的特征及其英译

摘要：

公示语是一种特殊的文体，它向游客传递信息。

近年来越来越多的外国人到中国旅游、投资，使公示语的翻译变得尤为重要。

然而，准确翻译公示语并不容易，所以，加强公示语翻译的研究和采取切实有力的措施去改善公示语翻译质量，具有深远的意义。

本文从公示语的定义，分类和特征入手，旨在对旅游景区公示语及其翻译做全面的研究，对其翻译也做了一定的论述，并尝试着提出相应的翻译策略，期望公示语更加标准、规范，以达到更好的文化宣传和交际作用。

simple,clear,indicative,informative,restrictiveandcompulsive.Itiswidelyusedinbusiness,traffic,tourismandsoon,especiallyintourism.Withtherapiddevelopmentofoureconomyandintensificationofreformandopening-uppolicy,moreandmoreforeignerscometoChinaforsightseeing,business,investmentactivities,etc.PublicsignsinEnglishinscenicspot,whicharethewindowsfortheforeignerstolearnaboutChinesecultureandbeautifulnaturalviews,areessentialtotheforeignersandconcernaboutourinternationalprofileandplayanimportantroleinpromptingthedevelopmentofChinesetourism,havetobepaidmoreattention.Therefore,whetherthetranslationofpublicsignsissuitableornothasgreatsignificancebothtousandtotheforeigntourists.Untilnow,therearemanyresearchesanddiscussionsontranslationofpublicsigns,buttheresearchesanddiscussionsonpublicsignsinscenicspotarerelativefew.Translatingtheoriesandmethodsaboutpublicsignsarejustdiscussedinsomemagazineasapart,notasawhole.Itwasearlyin1980sthatmoresystematicstudiesonthisfieldwerecarriedoutbyresearchersandinterpreters.Somelanguageworkerswrotesomearticlestogivecertainguidancetothetranslationofpublicsigns.DuanLiancheng（段连城，1988），aproficientjournalistpublishedapaperentitledHowtoHelpForeignersKnowChina,whichappealedtopeopletopayattentiontothisfield.HeZhifan（何志范，1994）publishedapapernamedTheAcceptabilityofTranslationofTouristSlogans,inwhichheproposedthatacceptabilityshouldbeusedasaprincipletoguidethetranslationoftouristslogans.InAugust2003,duetogreateffortsbyLvHefa（吕和发，2003）,aspecialwebsitecameintobeing-www.e-signs.info,whichprovidesusefulresourcesofpublicsignstranslationonline.WangXiaomei（王晓梅，2005）madethefollowingdefinitionforpublicsigns,whichareshowninpublic,announce,instruct,remind,warnandmarkthewordsandpicturescloselyrelatedtoworkandlife.YiqiuYang（杨以求，2009）onlydiscussedtheclassificationofpublicsignsandtheircharacteristicsinthemagazine-AsiaSocialScience.XiaKangming（夏康明，2010）thoughtthestrategyofconcisenessshouldbeusedintranslatingpublicsignsinscenicspot.Sothereisstillmuchspacetodiscussthemasawhole.Ofgreatinterestsinpublicsignsinscenicspot,theauthorwritesthisthesistoexplorewhatarepublicsigns,theirclassificationandfeaturesandwhatarethewaysinpublicsignstranslation.ThethesisisfullofabundantexamplesfromeveryscenicspotinChina.Fromalltheseexamples,thefeaturesandtranslationstrategiesofthepublicsignscanbeanalyzed.
