JiamusiCityislocatedintheregionwherestandardChinesePutonghuaisspoken.ItisinthecenterofthebeautifulandrichSanjiangPlainandbesidetheenchantingSonghuaRiver.Flowersblossominspring;flowersareredandwillowsaregreeninsummer;fruitsarecountlessinautumn;inwinter,itiscoveredwithsilverysnow.ManyfamousscenicspotsforvacationscatterheresuchasSifengRiverReservoir,LyingBuddhaMountainSkiingField,JiejinkouFishingplatformandLiangziRiverForestPark.Here,therearedistinctfourseasons,beautifulsceneries,convenienttraffic,richnaturalresourcesandtalents.

JiamusiUniversity（JU）isnowakeycomprehensiveuniversityundertheEducationDepartmentofHeilongjiangProvince,coveringpostgraduateeducation,generalhighereducation,continuingeducationandadvancedvocationaleducation.Amongprovincialinstitutionsofhigherlearning,JUislargerinscalewithcompletesubjectsandthemostcoursesandismoreformidablewithintegratedstrength.

Tospeedupitsprocessofinternationalization,JUhassetuptheInternationalCultureExchangeCenter（ICEC）andeducateinternationaltalents.Sinceitsestablishment,theICEC’sworkofeducatinginternationalstudentshasbeenbecomingmoreandmoreefficient,withitscomprehensivestrengthrankingantecedentinstitutionsofhigherlearninginHeilongjiangProvince.

I.BriefIntroductiontoJiamusiUniversity（JU）

JiamusiUniversitywasfoundedin1947.Itcovers1,490,000squaremeterswhoseteachingandadministrativebuildingshavingafloorspaceof840,130squaremeters.Thereare22collegesand1departmentdirectlyundertheuniversity.ItisakeycomprehensiveuniversityundertheEducationDepartmentofHeilongjiangProvincewhichislargerinscalewithcompletesubjectsandismoreformidablewithintegratedstrength.TheRehabilitationSkillsTrainingCenterundertheMinistryofPublicHealthandtheGeneralPractitionersTrainingCenterofHeilongjiangProvincearebothsituatedatJU.

JUhasbeenadheringtoscientificviewofdevelopmentandSino-foreigncooperationonrunningschool.Ithasestablishedfriendlyrelationships,scientificandacademicexchangeswith26universitiesin11countriesandregionsliketheUS,Russia,Japan,SouthKorea,BritainandSingapore.Eachyear,morethan500internationalstudentscometoJUfortheirshort-termorlong-termstudy.JU’scapacityofacceptinginternationalstudentsranksaheadoftheinstitutionsofhigherlearninginHeilongjiangProvince.In2006,itwasapprovedbytheMinistryofEducationofChinaasoneoftheChineseuniversitiesofferingforeignstudentstheChineseGovernmentScholarships.

LocatedinJiamusiCity,theregionwherestandardChinese（Putonghua）isspoken,JUhasdistinctadvantagesoflanguageenvironment,whichisanidealplacetostudyChinese.

II.BriefIntroductiontotheInternationalCultureExchangeCentre（ICEC）

TheICECisanimportantwindowoftheinternationalexchangeandcooperationofJU,whichspecializesintheteachingandmanagementofinternationalstudentsstudyingatJU.ItundertakestheformaleducationofundergraduateprogramsandjuniorcollegeprogramstointernationalstudentsmajoringinChineseandsuchmajorsasclinicalmedicineandeconomicmanagementwhoseteachingisonthebasisofbothEnglishandChinese.ItalsoundertakestheteachingoftheChineselanguageatvariouslevelsandwithmajororientations.Currently,therearemorethan500internationalstudentsatJUfortheirlong-termorshort-termtrainingwhocomefromRussia,SouthKorea,Japan,Pakistan,Nepal,Afghanistan,CanadaandAustralia.

TheICEChasbeenadheringtocenteringonteachingandregardingtheimprovementofthequalityofteachingasitstenet.StudentsaretaughtinsmallclassesattheICECbytheteachersfullofrichteachingexperienceswithnovelanduniqueteachingmethods.Theteachingeffectisaremarkablesuccess.Inthe1st"LongjiangCup”RussianStudentsSpeechContestinChineseheldin2006,thetotalteamscoreofJUrankedthe2ndamongalltheteams.ThreecontestantsofJUwonthefirstprize,thethirdprizeandtheprizeofexcellencerespectively.TheyarehighlyappraisedbytheleadersofJUandtheEducationDepartmentofHeilongjiangProvince.JU’steachingofmedicinetointernationalstudentshassomeinfluenceinChina.

TheapartmentbuildingsoftheICECforinternationalstudentshaveafloorspaceof36,000squaremeters,whichcanaccommodatemorethan1,000students.Thefacilitiesintheapartmentsarecomplete.Inaddition,ithasChineserestaurants,Western-stylerestaurants,Koreanrestaurants,Moslemrestaurants.

TheleadersofJUthinkhighlyoftheeducationofinternationalstudents.Thewell-equippedfacilities,thescientificandstandardmanagementofteachingandthedevotionoftheteachingstaffarehighlyappraisedbytheDepartmentofInternationalCooperationandExchangesoftheMinistryofEducationofChina.In2006,itwasapprovedbytheMinistryofEducationofChinaasoneoftheChineseuniversitiesofferingforeignstudentstheChineseGovernmentScholarships.Atpresent,JUisdiscussingmattersconcerningsettingupConfuciusCollegesatfriendlyuniversitiesinRussiaandArgentina.
