Toovercomethesebadhabits,somereadingclinicsuseadevicecalledanaccelerator,whichmovesabar(orcurtain)downthepageatapredeterminedspeed.Thebarissetataslightlyfasterratethanthereaderfindscomfortable.Theacceleratorforcesthereadertoreadfast,makingword-by-wordreading,regressionandvocalization,practicallyimpossible.Atfirstcomprehensionissacrificedforspeed.Butwhenyoulearntoreadideasandconcepts,youwillnotonlyreadfaster,butyourcomprehensionwillimprove.Manypeoplehavefoundtheirreadingskilldrasticallyimprovedaftersometraining.
