1）Ithasbeensoldover30,000,000copiesallovertheworldfromthepublicationdatetonow.In1937,MargaretwasrewardedthePulitzerPrizebecauseofthenovel.Twoyearslater,themovieforwhichthenovelwasadapted,becamethebiggestwinnerinthe12thAcademyAward.

MargaretMitchellwasbornonNovember8th,1900inalawyerfamilyofAtlanta,Georgia.ShewasonceawriterofAtlantaJournalsince1922andduringthefollowing4yearstherewere129pieceswithsignatureandmorepieceswithoutsignaturebeingpublished.DuringtheAmericanCivilWar,AtlantausedtobepossessedbyGeneralW.ShermanoftheNorthUnion.Fromthenon,theCivilWarwasthehittopictalkedaboutbythecitizensfrequently.Margaret’sfatherwastheformerpresidentoftheHistoryAssociation.SoMargaretalwaysheardthediscussionofthewarbetweenherfatherandhisfriends,evenamongtheneighborsasshewasalittlegirl.When26-year-oldMargaretdecidedtowriteanovelaboutthewar,Atlantaofcausewasthebackground.
