  Mothercaughtthepointandlaughedheartily.

  OurtrainpulledoutofWashingtonat9.40P.M.andMotherandIturnedinearly,Itakingtheupper.DuringthenightwepassedthroughthegreenfieldsofoldVirginia,thoughitwastoodarktotelliftheywasgreenorwhatcolor.Whenwegotupinthemorning,wewasatFayetteville,NorthCarolina.WehadbreakfastinthediningcarandafterbreakfastIgotinconversationwiththemaninthenextcompartmenttoours.HewasfromLebanon,NewHampshire,andamanabouteightyyearsofage.Hiswifewaswithhim,andtwounmarrieddaughtersandImadetheremarkthatIshouldthinkthefourofthemwouldbecrowdedinonecompartment,buthesaidtheyhadmadethetripeverywinterforfifteenyearsandknowedhowtokeepoutofeachother'sway.HesaidtheywasboundforTarponSprings.
