“Ourfocusisonhelpingdoctorstomakeaneasierrecoveryfortheirpatientsbyusingintensiveandhighlyinteractiverobotictherapy.Byusingrobotics,notonlydowegetagreaterunderstandingoftheneuro(神经)recoveryprocess,butwecanalsobuildarichstreamofdatathatassistsinongoingpatientdiagnosis.”

StrokesuffererTomMeans,61,fromWalkerville,Newcastle,isoneofthepatientsalreadytakingpartintherobotclinicaltrial.HehadastrokeinMarchthisyearandspentaroundtwomonthsinhospital.Theself-employedelectricianwasunabletousehisrightarmorwalk,buthasgraduallyregainedmovement.Hesaid,“I’veonlyhadafewsessionssofar,however,I’vereallyfeltthedifferenceinmyarmasI’vegotalotmoremovementandmuchmorestrength.”
