Signalwordsarewordsthathelpthereaderfollowthedirectionofawriter’sthought.Theyarelikesignpostsontheroadthatguidethetraveler.Commonsignalwordsshowexample,addition,comparison,orcontrast,illustrationandcauseandeffect.Therefore,itisnecessarytounderstandwhatsignalwordsarehowtheyfunction.Signalwordsmaybefoundanywhereinaparagraphorusedtoformaclosertiebetweenparagraphs.Theymaybeclassifiedaccordingtotheirfunctions.
