Dr.Larson,whowasnotinvolvedwiththestudy,saidhethoughttheCentralAsiafindingrequiredfurthertesting.Hesaidhesuspectedthattheoriginsofmoderndogswere“extremelymessy”andthatnoamountofsamplingoflivingpopulationswillbedefinitive.HesaidacombinationofstudiesofmodernandancientDNAisnecessary.
