famousstarsenjoyedfame,wealthandadulation(奉承)onanalltimescale.Bytoday’sstandards,theexcessesofHollywooddonotseemquitesospectacular.Asinglegramophonerecordnowadaysmayearnmuchmoreinroyaltiesthanthefilmsofthepasteverdid.Thecompetitionforthetitle“TopofthePops”isfierce,buttherewardsaretrulyhuge.

Itisonlyrightthatthestarsshouldbepaidinthisway.Don’tthetopmeninindustryearnenormoussalariesfortheservicetheyperformtotheircompaniesandtheircountries?
