“WiththepopularityoftheInternet,wearealmostfrequentlyconnectedtolargeamountsofinformation.Andwhenthatdataiswithinreach,peopleseemlesslikelytorelyontheirownknowledge,”saidProfessorRisko.

Studyingtheresults,theresearchersthoughtthataccesstotheInternetmightmakeitlessacceptabletosayyouknowsomethingbutareincorrect.Itisalsopossiblethatparticipantsweremorelikelytosaytheydidn’tknowananswerwhentheyhadaccesstothewebbecauseonlinesearchingoffersanopportunitytoconfirmtheiranswer,andtheprocessoffindingouttheanswerisrewarding.
