Insteadofleavingtheharshenvironmentaftercompletingthehistoricadventure,theexplorersetupatentontheworld’slargesticesheetandwaitedpatientlyforRuddtocompletethegreatundertaking.OnDecember29,justthreedaysafterO’Bradyarrived,theBritishexplorerfinishedhisadventure,becomingtheworld’ssecondpersontocompletethesolocrossingofthefrozencontinent.
