1Scope

ThispartofEN14511specifiesthetestconditionsfortheratingofairandwatercooledairconditioners,liquid

chillingpackages,air-to-air,water-to-air,air-to-waterandwater-to-waterheatpumpswithelectricallydriven

compressorswhenusedforspaceheatingand/orcooling.Italsospecifiestestconditionsforheatrecovery

operationofmultisplitsystems.

ThisEuropeanStandardappliestofactory-madeunitsthatcanbeducted.

Thisstandardappliestofactory-madeliquidchillingpackageswithintegralcondensersorforusewithremote

condensers.

Thisstandardappliestofactory-madeunitsofeitherfixedcapacityorvariablecapacitybyanymeans.

Packagedunits,singlesplitandmultisplitsystemsarecoveredbythisstandard,exceptwatercooledmultisplit

systems.

Inthecaseofunitsconsistingofseveralparts,thestandardappliesonlytothosedesignedandsuppliedasa

completepackage,exceptforliquidchillingpackageswithremotecondenser.

Thisstandardisprimarilyintendedforwaterandbrinechillingpackagesbutcanbeusedforotherliquidsubjectto

agreement.

Thisstandardappliestoair-to-airairconditionerswhichevaporatethecondensateonthecondenserside.

Theunitshavingtheircondensercooledbyairandbytheevaporationofexternaladditionalwaterarenot

coveredbythisstandard.

Thisstandarddoesnotapplytounitsusingtranscriticalcycles,e.g.withCO2asrefrigerant.

Installationsusedforheatingand/orcoolingofindustrialprocessesarenotwithinthescopeofthisstandard.

NOTEPartloadtestingofunitsisdealtwithinCEN/TS14825.

4.1Environmentalconditionsandelectricalpowersupplyrequirements

ThetestsshallbecarriedoutundertheenvironmentalconditionsspecifiedinTable1orTable2dependingonthe

locationoftheunit.

Forallunits,electricalpowervoltageandfrequencyshallbegivenbythemanufacturer

Fortheratingtests,theappropriatetestconditionsshallbeappliedinaccordancewith:

Energylabellingapplication

A.1General

Thepresentstandardshallbeusedtodeclaretheenergyefficiencyclassandtoprovideperformance

characteristicsofairconditionersandheatpumpsunderthescopeoftheEnergyLabellingDirective

2002/31/EC,forboththelabellingandthetechnicaldocumentation.

A.2Ratingconditions

A.2.1General

Theratingconditionsforwhichtheperformancearedeclaredareindicatedinthisstandardandarespecified

hereafterforeachtypeofproductcoveredbytheenergylabelling.

TheperformanceratingshallbeestablishedinaccordancewiththetestprocedureofEN14511-3.

A.2.2Air-cooledairconditioners（air-to-airconditioners）

Standardratingconditions“comfort”indicatedinTable4shallbeusedtodeterminethecoolingcapacity,the

EER,theannualenergyconsumptionandtheefficiencyclassofsinglesplitandpackagedair-cooledair

conditioners.

Forreversecycleunits,theheatingcapacityandtheefficiencyclassshallbedeterminedfromoneofthe

standardratingconditionsindicatedinTable3dependingoftheheatsourceandheatsink.

StandardratingconditionsindicatedinTable14shallbeusedtodeterminethecoolingcapacity,theEER,the

annualenergyconsumptionandtheefficiencyclassofmultisplitairconditioners.

Forreversecycleunits,theheatingcapacityandtheefficiencyclassshallbedeterminedfromoneofthe

standardratingconditionsindicatedinTable13.
