TodayIamverypleasedtohavetheopportunitytotellyouaboutsomeofmyteachingideas.Mytopicisthefirstperiod:

LearningPoemsofUnit2Poems.Thistopicwillbedividedintoeightparts.

ITeachingmaterial

Backgroundknowledgeandnewcurriculum,newteachingmaterial

Thisunitsurroundsthetopic“Poems”todevelopalltheteachingactivitiesincludinglistening,speaking,readingandwriting.ChinesePoemsarequitefamiliartoSswhileEnglishpoemsarequitestrangeanddifficultinmostSs’mind.SothistopicistoletSsgointotheworldofEnglishPoemsanddevelopinterest.Thecontentvariesfromfirstknowing,talkingaboutwhypeoplewritepoemsandsomebasicknowledgeaboutpoems(kinds,characteristics).Thislessonfocusesontwokindsofpoems:

nurseryrhymesandlistpoems.ItishopedthatthroughthisunitSsinitiallyknowpoemsandmasterthebasiccommonsenseoftheliteratureforms,thereforeSscanwritesomesimplepoems.

ThelanguagematerialareinvolvedinChineseandforeignpoemssothatSscangettoknowforeignculturetodevelopthesenseoftheworld.Justasthenewcurriculumsuggests:

StudyingpoemsisbeneficialforwideningSs’culturefieldofvisionanddevelopSs’multi-culturalsenseandability.
