InMedievalTimes,Arabsenjoyedanicedrinkcalledsherbet(冰冻果子露).Thiscolddrinkoftenwentwithfruits.Overtime,thedrinkbecamepopularwiththeEuropeanupperclass.Italiansaresaidtohavelearnedthisdrink-makingskill,withtheFrenchfollowingsoonafter.The17thcenturysawicedrinksmadeintofrozendesserts.Withsugaradded,sorbet(雪酪)wascreated.AntonioLatini(1632—1692)isthefirstpersontocreateamilk-basedsorbet,whichisconsideredasthefirst“official”icecream.
