  Alwaysadiligentstudent,KatherinestartedtolearnmedicineatBrown.Butthensheaddedanewlimbtoherdreamtree—onemathermotherstilldoesn’tunderstand.ShockedbythemisfortuneofsomeSouthKoreanwomen,KatherinejoinedforceswithanotherBrownstudenttoformthePolarisProject,nowoneofthelargestanti-human-traffickingorganizationsinthecountry,“Itwasreallyhardformyparents,”saysKatherine.“Theyhadsomanylifestressessotheirchildrencouldgetagreateducationandhaveacomfortablelife.”
