英语中级口译考试一般在每年的3月和9月举行，今年中级口译笔

一、表示不多不少、恰恰正好的翻译策略
表示不多不少、恰恰正好，英语一般使用clear,cool,exactly,flat,
just.sharp,whole等。
如：
1、ProfessorJohnsonfinishedtheexperimentintwenty-fourhours
flat.
约翰逊教授完成这一实验正好用了24小时。
2、Thephysiciantreatedcool30patientsthatday.
这位内科医生那天正好看了30个病人。
3、Theplanetakesoffat8oclocksharp.
这架飞机8点整起飞。
4、Themachineworkedfortenwholedays.
这台机器整整运转了10天时间。
5、Thewiremeasuresexacttwentymeters.
这条导线刚好20米长。
二、表示大约、不确定的翻译策略英语一般
常使用about,some,around,round,nearly,towards,somewhere
about,estimated,approximately,in/of/ontheborderof,closeto等词修饰
数字，表示不确定、大约、上下、将近、几乎等。
1、Thevolumeofthesunisabout/some/around/round1,300,000
timesthatoftheearth.
太阳的体积约为地球的130万倍。
2、Itisnearly/toward（s）4oclock.
现在已是将近4点了。
3、Thepriceofthisnewmachineisintheneighborhoodof/ofthe
orderofathousanddollars.
这台新机器的价格约1，000美元。
4、Ithasbeenreportedthatnoisefigureisintheborderof4to5db
at2GHz..
据报导，在2，000兆赫时，噪音系数约为45分贝。
5、Accordingtotheweatherman,thetemperaturewillbeup5℃or

三、表示高于、多于的翻译方法
英语常用morethan,odd,over,above,long,past,ormore,upwards
of,higherthan,exceed,inexcessof等词修饰数字，表示超过、以上、有
余、高于、多于等。
1、Pigironisanalloyofironandcarbonwiththecarboncontent
morethantwopercent.
生铁是铁碳合金，其中碳含量超过2%。
2、Onlywhenarocketattainsaspeedof18,000oddmilesperhour,
canitputaman–madesatelliteintoorbit.
只有当火箭速度达到每小时18.000多英里时，才能把人造卫星
送入轨道。
3、Over/Above/Morethan/Notlessthan100chemicalelements
areknowntoman;oftheseabout80aremetals.
人类已知的化学元素有100种以上，其中有约80种是金属。
4、Upwardsofseventhousandmedicalworkersandtwentythousand
PLAmenhaveleftfortheearthquakedistrict.
有七千多名医务人员和两万多名解放军前往震区。
5、Thepatientsarechildrenofthreeyearsoldandupwards.

四、表示少于、差一些、不到等的翻译方法
英语常用less,lessthan,below,nomorethan,under,shortof,off,to,
within,asfewas等词修饰数字，表示少于、不到、以下等。
1、Ittookonemonthlessthanthreeyearsforthemtodevelopthe
newmaterial.
他们花了三年差一个月研制这种新材料。
2、Heliumintheairisalittleunder1%.
空气中氦的含量略低于1%。
3、Theefficiencyofthebestoftheseenginesisunder/below/less
than/nomorethan40%.
这些发动机中效率最好的也不到40%。
五、形容数目、数量多时的翻译方法
英语中常用full,solid,atleast,allof,nolessthan,asas等词来修
饰数字，强调数目很大、数量很多。
Theycoveredfulltwentyreferencesourcesonfluidicsinasingleday.
仅用了一天时间，他们就看完了足足20种有关射流的资料。
2、Themotorran450soliddaysonend.
马达连续运转了足足450天。
3、Theexperimentwilltakethreemonths,atleast.
实验至少需要三个月时间。
4、Thetemperatureatthesunscenterisashighas10,000,000℃.
太阳中心的温度高达摄氏1，000万度。
5、Therewerenolessthan3,000deadandwoundedinthe9.11
terroristattack.

六、形容数目小、数量少时的翻译技巧英语中常用only,merely,
barely,scarcely,but,atmost,nomorethan,scant等词修饰数字，强调数
目小、数量少。
Thereisatmostonlyroomforoneperson.
至多只有可容纳一个人的空间。
Thatsolar-energycarweighsonly/merely/barely/scarcely/but
500kg.
那辆太阳能汽车重量仅有500公斤。
Inspectiontimefortheinstallationwasnomorethan2hours.
检验安装工作仅用了两个小时。
七、表示两者或多者范围数量的翻译英语中常用fromto,between
and（to）来修饰数字，表示范围，他们通常可译为从到、在之间等。
Theenergyofthefuelwastedbythereciprocatingsteamengineis
between80and/to85percent.
往复式蒸汽机浪费的燃料能量为80%到85%。
Theladlerefiningtimetakesonaveragebetween3and4hours
dependingonthetreatmentrequired.
桶内精炼时间平均为3至4小时，这要视所需要的处理量而定。
八、需要换算数词的翻译
由于英语数字的表达与汉语数字的表达方式不同，汉译时需要换
算。
数字的换算看起来似乎很简单，但翻译工作者往往会因为不小心而
犯错误，可谓失之毫厘、谬之千里。
tenthousand（10个千一万）
onehundredthousand（100个千十万）
tenmillion（10个百万一千万）
onehundredmillion（100个百万亿）
onebillion（十亿）（美语）
tenbillion（10个十亿百亿）
onehundredbillion（100个十亿千亿）
onetrillion（万亿）
九、英语中表示倍数的翻译
英语中表示倍数的翻译，有两点应引起注意：
一是英汉倍数的表
达法：
二是英汉两种语言的单位表达法。
（一）用联系动词或行为动词和包含有数词n的词语相搭配
具体表达方式有如下几种，分别译作是的n倍、n杯于或比大（n-
1倍）
bentimesas+形容词（或副词）+as
1、thissubstancereactsthreetimesasfastastheother.
该物质的反应速度是那种物质反应速度的3倍。

该物质的
反应速度比那种物质的反应速度快2倍）
bentimes+比较级+than
2、thislineistwotimeslongerthanthatone.
这条线的长度是那条线长度的2倍。
（或：
这条线比那条线长1
倍）
be+比较级+than+名词+byntimes
3、mercuryweighsmorethanwaterbyabout14times.
水银的重量约为水的14倍。
（或：
水银比水重13倍）
be+比较级+byafactorofn
4、theerrorprobabilityofbinaryAMisgreaterthanbinaryFMbya
factorofatleast6.
二进制条幅的误差概率比二进制调频至少大5倍。

（二）在系动词或行为动词后接as+形容词或副词+againas或接
againas+形容词或副词+as
这些搭配通常可译作是的两倍，比多一倍。
另外需注意，如果
again前再加half,则表示比大（长、宽）半倍。
1、thiswireisaslongagainasthatone.
这根金属线的长度是那根的2倍。
（或：
这根金属线比那根金属
线长1倍）
asmany/muchagain（as）（比）可译作多一倍：
2、professorLihasbooksasmanyagainasIdo.
李教授的书比我的书多一倍。
（三）用带有增大意思的动词（increase,rise,grow,goup等）和下列包
含有数词n（表示数字、百分数或倍数）的词语相配合
具体表达方式有：
动词+ntimes，动词+by+ntimes，动词+to+n
times,动词+n-fold，动词+byafactorof+n等，可译作增加到n倍，增加
了（n-1）倍。
1、thesalesofindustrialelectronicproductshavemultipliedsix
times.
工业电子产品销售额增加了5倍。
2、thestrengthoftheattractionincreasesbyfourtimesifthedistance
betweentheoriginalchargesisbehalved.
如果原电荷的距离缩短一半，则引力就增大到原来4倍。
或：
如
果原电荷的距离缩短一半，则引力比原来大3倍。
3、by2004theproductionofprimarycopperhasincreasedfivefold.
到2004年，原铜产量增长了4倍。
（四）用带有增大意思的动词（increase，rise,grow,goup等）连接
（by）n+单位（或n%）,表示净增量，数词n可照译，例如：
1、theoutputwentup45,000tons.
产量增加了45，000吨。
theproductionhasincreasedby45%.生产已增加了45%。
3、automationwillhelpustoraisetheoutputofproductionbythirty
percent.
自动化能帮助我们提高产量30%。
4、industrialoutputroseby0.9percentinJune.
6月份产量增长了0.9%。
（五）用表示倍数的动词表示量的增加
其中，double表示是的2倍、增加1倍或翻一番;treble表示为
是的3倍、增加两倍或增加到3倍;quadruple表示是的4倍、增加3
倍或翻两番;quintuple表示是的5倍、增加至5倍或增加了4倍;sextuple
表示使成6倍;septuple使成为7倍;octuple表示使成为8倍。
1、thenewairportwilldoublethecapacityoftheexistingone.
新机场是现有机场容量的2倍。
2、thepopulationhasnearlytrebledinfortyyears.
人口在40年中增加了近2倍。
3、thecompanyquadrupledoutputtoaround20milliontons.
该GS把产量增至2，000万吨左右，是原来的四倍。
4、Theoutputhasbeenquintupledsince1998.
1998年以来，产量已增长了4倍。
（六）、英语中用anincreaseofn.或annincreaseof表示净增的数
量，n可直译：
1.Thereisanincreaseof4.5milliontonsofsteelascomparedwith
lastyear.
钢产量比去年增加了450万吨。
2.Thereisa25%increaseofsteelascomparedwithlastyear.
钢产量比去年增加了450万吨。
十、英语中表示减少（倍）数的翻译
（一）、用表示减少的动词（decrease,deduce,fall,lower等）连接byn
或n%，表示净减量;用系动词连接nless（than）表示净减量，所减数均可
直译。
1、180decreasedby90is90.180减去90等于90。
2、Thecostdecreasedby40%.成本下降了40%。
3、Thisnewprocessused35%lessfuel.这种工艺少用了35%的燃
料。
（二）、用表示减少的动词（decrease,reduce,fall,lower等）连接byn.
times,n.times,n.timesas+形容词或副词+as,byafacterofn.等，均可
译作减少了n分之（n-1）或减少到n分之1。
1.Theenterprisemanagementexpenditurethisyearhasdecreasedby
threetimesasagainstthatof2002.
该企业的行政管理开支比2002年降低了2/3。
2.Thepre-heatingtimesforthenewtypethermalmeterisshortened
5times.
这种新型热电式仪表的预热时间缩短了4/5。
3.Theerrorprobabilityoftheequipmentwasreducedby2.5times
throughtechnicalinnovation.
通过技术革新该设备误差概率降低了3/5。
倍数、百分比的译法
例1.以美国黑人为例，黑人只占美国人口的13%，却占囚犯总
数的49%。
黑人妇女被判入狱的比率比白人妇女高8倍以上。
TakeAmericanblacksforexample.Althoughtheyaccountforonly
13percentofthetotalpopulation,blacksmakeup49percentofallprisoners.
Also,theratiooftheblackwomeninprisonisninetimesashighas（nine
timeslarger/greaterthan）thatofthewhitewomen.
例2.美国移民研究中心1999年9月发表的一份报告指出，移民
的贫困率在1979至1997年间增长了123%，移民贫困人口由270万增
至770万。
1989至1997年，在新增贫困人口中，移民达300万人，占
75%。

数字的模糊表达：
例1.银河宛转三千曲，浴凫飞鹭澄波绿。

例2.王冕一路风餐露宿，九十里大站，七十里小站，一径来到
山东济南府地方。

例3.薛蟠也假说来上学，不过是三天打鱼，两天晒网却不曾有
