matter,people—wecanseetheboundariesandbordersthathavehistoricallyseparatedonecountryoronegroupfromanotherarebecomingmoreandmorepermeable.Forproofofthisclosetohome,youneedonlytolookatthetransnationalcorporationsinourcountry.Moststudentsstudyhardinordertogetachancetoworkinthetransnationalcorporations.Evenifyouhaveacompanyofyourown,it'sstillnecessaryforyoutodealwithbusinesswithpeoplefromdifferentcountries.Introduction

*“InternationalBusinessCulture”isdesignedtohelpyoumeetthechallengesoflivinginaworldinwhich,increasingly,youwillbeaskedtointeractwithpeoplewhomaynotbelikeyouinfundamentalways.Itsoverarchinggoalsaretohelpyoubecomesensitivetointerculturalcommunicationdifferences,andtoprovideyouwiththeknowledgeandskillsthatwillhelpyouinteractsuccessfullywithpeoplefromculturesotherthanyourown.WehopethecoursewillaccomplishthosegoalsbyexposingyoutoCharlesMitchell'sbookonthissubject,andbygivingyouavarietyofopportunitiestopracticeinterculturalcommunicationyourself.
