otherthanintellectualones,andthebestwaytodothisisthroughactivities

make-believegames,howcantheydeveloptheirimagination?

Ofcourse,factorsuchaslovingrelationships,goodhealth,theskillsto

earnalivingandapeacefulenvironmentallcontributetoourhappiness

too.Butthisdoesnotmeanthatpeoplewithouttheseconditionscannot

behappy.

Overall,Ithinkanabilitytokeepclearperspectivesinlifeisamore

essentialfactorinachievinghappiness.BythatImeananabilitytohave

aclearsenseofwhatisimportantinourlives(thewelfareofourfamilies,

thequalityofourrelationships,makingotherpeoplehappy,etc.)and

whatisnot(aproblematwork,gettingannoyedabouttrivialthings,etc.).

Likeself-awareness,thisisalsoverydifficulttoachieve,butIthinkthese

arethetwofactorsthatmaybethemostimportantforachieving

happiness.

withfewerchildren.Thesechildrenareoftenspoilt,notintermsoflove

andattentionbecauseworkingparentsdonothavethetimeforthis,but

inmorematerialways.Theyareallowedtohavewhatevertheywant,

regardlessofprice,andtobehaveastheyplease.Thismeansthatthe

childrengrowupwithoutconsiderationforothersandwithoutany

understandingofwheretheirstandardoflivingcomesfrom.

Whentheygettoschoolagetheyhavenotlearntanyselfcontrolor

discipline.Theyhavelessrespectfortheirteachersandrefusetoobey

schoolrulesinthewaythattheirparentsdid.

Teacherscontinuallycomplainaboutthisproblemandmeasuresshould

betakentocombatthesituation.ButIthinkthesolutiontotheproblem

lieswiththefamilies,whoneedtobemoreawareofthefuture

consequencesofspoilingtheirchildren.Iftheycouldraisethemtobe

considerateofothersandtobesocial,responsibleindividuals,thewhole

communitywouldbenefit.

Perhapsparentingclassesareneededtohelpthemtodothis,andhigh

qualitynurseryschoolscouldbeestablishedthatwouldsupportfamilies

moreintermsofraisingthenextgeneration.Thegovernmentshould

fundthiskindofparentalsupport,becausethisisnolongeraproblemfor

individualfamilies,butforsocietyasawhole.
