每个人心目中的英雄不尽相同。

在每个孩子的眼里,父亲则是永远的英雄。

父爱如山,托起孩子的一生;父爱如灯,照亮孩子的一生。

Myfatherwasmyhero,allthroughoutmylife.WhenIwasverylittle,heappearedtobesolarge.Inmyeyeshecoulddoanything.Weallknewhewasincharge.Hewasamanofgreatstrengthbothphysicallyandmentally,andhefoundwaystobeoutgoingandkind.

Many childhooddaysweregreetedwithakissandsongssungtomeasIwokeup.ThosedaysIsurelymiss.Hemademefeelsospecial,“MissAmerica”hewouldsing.IknewIhadmyfather’slove.Itgavemecouragetodoanything.

FromhimIlearnedtostanduptall,tobeproudofwhoIam.Strengthanddeterminationwerethequalitiesofthisfineman.Asitdrewtowardstheendoflife,thatstrengthkepthimalive,andtheunfailingdeterminationtotakecareofmymother.Dayandnighthestruggledforyearswithherdisease.Withillnessesofhisown,hestillstoodbyhersidecaringforherandlovingheruntillthedayshedied.Twentydayslaterhistimecameaswell.

Ilostmyhero,myfather,amanwhowasmyfriend.Afewyearshavepassed,andlifejustisn’tthesame.ButItillremember,andthelovewillneverend.

2.Discovermyself

有时候,我们的一点改变可能就是来源于我们身边那些并不干起眼的事物。

Isatdowntostudy,butinstead,Istartedthinkingabouttheproblemsinmylife--thefight,thesleeplessnightsandmyhealth......Everythingcametomymind.Iwantedananswertoalltheseproblems,butwonderediftherewasanyanswer.ItwasatthatmomentthatmyeyessuddenlynoticedthatDVD,andsomethingtoldme:

thisisananswertoallyourproblems!

Ibecamesointerestedinit;IhavenowordstodescribethefeelingofhappinessthatIexperiencedwhilewatchingit.TheunbelievablestoriesofhumanbeingsIwon’tforgetanyofthem.

FromthatdayonIstartedreconsideringmygoalsandfocusedonwhatIreallywanted.NowIhavestartedgettingbettergrades;therelationshipwithmyfriendsisoutstanding;I’minbetterhealth.Andpeopleoftentellmy,“Wow!

Whataperfectlifeyouhave!

ThankstoTheSecret,whichhelpedmediscovermyself.NowIhavestartedsettingbiggergoalsandI’mdeterminedtoreachthem.

3.Anunforgettablechallenge

WhenIwastenyearsold,Ibegantochatwithforeigners.ButIwasveryshy.Gradually,Ibecamemoreandmoreconfidentwithforeigners’help.Thefollowingyear,IwenttoYangzhouwithtwoforeigners.Ibecametheirguide.First,wecameintotheShouxiRiver.Theywantedtolookaroundtheriverbyboat.Itoldthemtheprice.Themwegointotheboat.Whenwelookedoutatthesight,weallfeltthebeautyofthislandscape.Afterthat,theywenttobuysouvenirs.Thesellerscouldn’tspeakEnglish.Thoughitwasveryhard,Itriedmybesttolistentotheirwordscarefullyandtranslatethesentences.Theyboughtsomesouvenirswithmyhelp.Next,wewenttoasmallzoo,andwetooksomephotos.Therewerenotmanyanimals.Whenwefelthungry,wewentoutandhadlunch.Afterlunch,wevisitedsomeoldhouses.TheylearnedmoreaboutChinesehistory.

Thiswasn’tonlyabigchallengebutalsoanunforgettablechallenge.Thisopportunitymadmeconfidentandbrave.IhopeIcancatchmanyopportunitiesinthefuture,thenIcanspeakEnglish,becauseIthinkpracticemakesperfect.

4.Givingisgetting

付出即是回报。

在生活中我们也应当处处有这样的态度。

OnacoldDecembermorning,mymotherandIwerewalkinghomefromapizzastore.Weweredressedwarmlyandequippedwiththevideowehadbeendyingtowatch.Iwasfeelingalittletired,asIwascarryingourshopping,bagsofsnacksandthevideo.

TheyweresoheavythatIdecidedtothrowawaysomethings.SoIstartedtowalktowardsthegarbagecanwhenInoticedapoormanwalkinghisbikeoutoftherestaurantinfrontofus.Heheldapaperbagwithhisdirtyhand.Heheadedovertoanothernearbygarbagecanandstartedlookingthroughit.

Isuddenlyfeltveryguilty.Iknewthismanwouldtakeallhecouldget,soIwalkeduptohimandhandedthedrinkandsomesnacksovertohim.Theman,withlinesonhisfaceandwrinklesonhisforehead,lookedupinsurpriseandtookwhatIgavehim.

Ahugesmilespreadacrosshisfaceandthiscausedmetofeelgreatlysatisfied.IfeltlikeIcouldn’tbehappierwithmyself,butthenhesaid:

”Wow,firstsomeonegivesmethissandwich,thenthisdrink,andnowsometastyfood;thisismydaughter’sluckyday!

Hethankedmehappilyandstartedoffonhisbike.Ievenheardhimwhistlingasongasherodeaway.

Inowunderstandwhatismeantbythesaying“givingisgetting”.Everyoneintheworldneedshelp;everyonecanofferhelpandeveryonewillbhelpedbyshowingkindness.
