  Somebutterflieshaveabrightpatternofcolorsontheuppersurfaceoftheirwings,whichshowwhentheyfly,butwhentheyrestonatreeorleaf,theyclosetheirwings.Ontheundersidesoftheirwingstherearegreenandbrownmarkingswhichlooklikethetreeorleaf.Theyarethendifficulttosee.ThebestexampleofthisistheDeadLeafButterfly.Whenitswingsareclose,itlooksexactlylikeadeadleaf.Thereareevenmarksthatlookliketheholesinadeadleaf.Whenabirdischasingabutterfly,anditcloseitswings,itseemstohavedisappearedcompletely.
