Sincetheperiod1965-1980,oilhasplayedaleadingroleintheenergystructure,anditbecameakeyfactorinnationaldevelopmentandeconomicsystems.Thus,theworldenergycrisishappened.Thecrisiswarnedusthatenergystructuresmustbechanged.Particularlyintheindustriallydevelopedcountries,therewasre-strengthenedsupportforthedevelopmentofsolarenergytechnology.Forexample,theUnitedStatesdevelopedagovernment-levelplantousesolarenergyin1973.Asubstantialincreaseinfundingforsolarresearchandasolarenergydevelopmentbankwasestablishedtopromotethecommercializationofsolarenergyproducts.
From1980tothepresent,therewasextensiveuseofnon-renewableenergysources,causingglobalenvironmentalpollutionandecologicaldestruction.Humanexistenceanddevelopmentsarenowthreatened.Inthiscontext,manycountrieshavestrengthenedcleanenergytechnologydevelopment,andmadetheconnectionthatsolarenergyandenvironmentalprotectiongotogether.
