ABriefIntroductionofQianXuesen

QianXuesenwasbornintoawealthyfamilyonDecember11,1911.Hewassocleverthathewasregardedasa“super-talented”boyinhischildhood.

HavinggraduatedfromShanghaiJiaotongUniversityin1934,hewenttoAmericaforhisfurtherstudyandgainedhisDoctor’sdegreeintheScienceofAstronomy.SincehereturnedtoChinain1955,hedevotedallhislifetoChina’sAstronomyandAircraftindustry.Hetookpartinthedesignandresearchofrocketsandmissiles,openinganeweraofChina’sAstronomyindustry.

It’sforhisoutstandingachievementsthatheishonouredasthe“FatherofChina’sAerospace”andthe“KingofRockets”.QianXuesen,apioneerofChina’sAstronomyindustry,passedawayinOctober,2009inBeijing.

Nowmoreandmorepeopleareawarethatthosenaturaldisastershavemuchtodowithwhatwehavedonetonature,likecuttingdowntrees,pollutingtheenvironmentwherewelive.Asaresult,moreandmorenaturaldisastersoccuranddoharmtous.

Soitisurgentforustostopdamagingourenvironmentandtodoourbesttoprotectitandmakeitalovelyplacesuitabletolivein.Besides,weshoulddosomethingsuchasplantingmoretrees,equippingcarswithpollution-controldevicesandlearningtorecyclenaturalresourcestoimprovethepresentsituation.

Asisknowntoall,thepandaisanendangeredspeciesintheworld,whichonlyinhabitstheforestsandmountainsofSouthwestChina.Thepandawasonceindangerofdyingout.Thereareabout1,000pandaslivinginnaturereservestoday.Theymainlyliveonbamboo,buttheareaofbambooisonthedeclineformanydifferentreasons,sopandashavelessandlesslandtoliveon.

Thegovernmenthastakenmeasurestoprotectpandasandappealtomorevolunteerstotakepart.Thankstothegovernmentandvolunteers,pandas’livingconditionsareimproving,andtoourrelief,thenumberofpandaslivinginnatureisontheincrease.

Lookingbackatmyseniorhighyears,there’ssomuchtoremember.

WhileIwasbusywithmystudies,preparingforthecollegeentranceexamination,Ijoinedsomeamusingclubsandtookpartinvariousafter-schoolactivities,whichhelpedmekeepactiveandhealthy.Duringthelastsummervacation,ourclasswenttoapark,wherewehadgreatfun.ThemostunforgettablemomentwaswhenIattendedanadultceremonyinSenior2,whichmarkedtheendoflifeasachildandthebeginningoflifeasanadult.It’sanimportantdateinmylifeforever.

OfallthefilmsthatIhaveeverseen,HarryPotter,afamousmovieacrosstheworld,ismyfavorite.

ItsaysthatHarryPotterwasapoorboywhoneversawhisparentsandlivedwithhisuncle.Hisunclewasnotgoodtohim.Thenheenteredamagicschoolwherehelearnedmagicandmethisfriends.Somebadpeoplewantedtokillhim,andhesufferedalot,buthefinallydefeatedhisenemies.

Thewritercreatedawonderfulandmagicalworld,whichappealstoallchildren.Ilearnedalotfromthefilmandthepeopleandthestoriesinthatmovieleftadeepimpressiononme.

7.个人感情（Emotions）

Itisknownthateveryonehasstrengthsandweaknesses,whichweshouldbeawareof.Therearealwayspeoplewithgoodqualitiesaroundus,sowhenwegetalongwiththem,wecanlearnfromtheirgoodqualitiessuchascourage,confidence,determination,honestyandsoon.Inthatcase,wecantreasuretheirstrengthsandtakeadvantageofthemtoperformbetterinourdailylifeandstudy.Astotheirweaknesses,wecanregardthemasamirrortoreflectonourselvessothatwecangetridofourshortcomingsifany.

Asasayinggoes,“Attitudeiseverything.”Itmeansourattitudewilldecidewhetherwewillsucceedornotinthefuture.Ifwetakeapositiveattitudeandkeepontrying,wewillachieveourgoalsintheend.

　　Ican’tagreemorewiththisview.AtonetimeIwasnotgoodatEnglish,whichmademeverydepressed.ThenIrealizedthatIhadtodowellinEnglishtogotomyfavoriteuniversity.Italkedwithmyteacheraboutmyproblem,whoofferedsomevaluableadvicetome.Withmyteacher’shelp,IimprovedmyEnglishgradually.

8.人际关系（Interpersonalrelationships）

Friendshipplaysabigpartinourlife.Withoutfriendship,ourlifewouldbelikeadesert.

Accordingtomyexperience,Ithinkfriendsbringmenotonlytrustandunderstandingbutalsowarmth.OnceonaweekendIfellbadlyill.Unfortunately,myparentswereoutonbusinessandIwasaloneathome.Hopelessly,IcalledmyfriendLiMingwholivednearmyhome.Hecameimmediatelyandsentmetohospitalandlookedaftermecarefully,whichmovedmedeeply.ItwasmyfriendthatgavemeahandwhenIwasintrouble. 

IenjoymakingfriendsandIvaluefriendshipalot,becausefriendsarelikethesun—reliableandwarm,andtheybrightenmydays.

Agoodparent-childrenrelationshipshouldbebasedonmutualunderstandingandrespect.Parentscannotimposetheirideasontheirchildren.Instead,theyshouldtreattheirchildrenasindependentindividualsandlearntolisten
