Internet?
Withtherapidgrowthofoursocietyandthewholeworld,wehaveenteredaneraofexplosiveinformation.Everydaywhenyouweakup,itisnearlyimpossibletoavoidbeingexposedtoallkindsoffreshnewsorinformation,whetherit’spolitics,economics,socialissuesorjustsomesortsofhilariousentertainmentscandal.Itseemswearelivinginsidethe“news”.
So,howdothesenewcoinsslipintoourdailylife?
Manyscholarsarguetheyarefrombooks,variouskindsofbooks.Intheirminds,nearlyeverythingrelatedtoknowledgeormaybejustwords,comesfromthe“thickpapers”.Sure,theyarecorrect.Withoutbooks,humanswillloseoneofthemostimportantmeansofmakingprogress.Weneedtoknowthings,todevelopourmindsaswellasourlives.However,nomatterhowbooksarestressedout,theyalwayshaveonedisadvantage----notinstant.Peopleneedtotakesometimetogetwhattheywant.Perhapsaftertheirreading,theyfinditalreadyout-of-date.Thefrustrationleadstoanotheraccess----theInternet.
TheInternetprovidesanamazingforumforthefreeexchangeofideas.Giventherelativelyfewrestrictionsgoverningaccessandusage,itisthecommunicationmodalequivalentofinternationalwaters.EvenbeforetheInternetcameintowidespreaduse,peoplehavealreadyutilizedittoacknowledgeanddeliverinformation.Thatiswhatwecallthe“newinformationage”.ButmuchlesswidelyreportedhasbeenthenotionthattheInternetmayberesponsibleforfurtheringthefragmentationofsocietybyalienatingitsindividualusers.SomanypeoplehavetheInternetbinges.TheycannotstopsurfingtheInternetoncetheyhavegotonline.Howterriblethatis!
Internetindeedcanspreadusefulthingsinanenvironmental-friendlywayforthesakeofusers’enjoyment.Theycanbeinstantinthatyoujusthavetoclickandglimpseandallthenewestideaswillbeinyourmind.Somecallitmagic,othersstrategy.BecausetheInternetprovidersmakeafortunethroughthesehundredsofthousandsofclickseveryday.Well,nobodycandenythatbutitstilldoesn’thamperyourconvenienceofknowingthings.
WhentherapidnessoftheInternetandhumanbrain’sprogressmeets,whichonewilldominatetheworld?
Itishardtosay,butasastudentmajoringinlanguage,Istillpreferthe“thickbooks”.TheInternetcanbeaconvenienttool,buttheycannotreplacethebooks.Booksaretheoldestmeansofknowledgespreadinganditdoesn’tworsenthenationfromanyrespect.Itelevatespeople’smindandmakesthemwise.YoungstersmightprefertousetheInternetmorethanever.Inthelongrun,thebookholdsthefirstplaceandthat’swhythereexistsalibraryinsteadofan“Internetary”.

Speakingofreading,manypeopleareexcitedbecausereadingbringsthembothknowledgeandentertainment.Byreading,wecanlearnlotsofinformationandknowourhistory.Butforsomepeople,readingisnottheirpriority.Theywillchoosetowatchmoviestohavefun.However,Ithinkpeoplecanbenefitalotbyreading.

Allinall,wecanfindlotsofbenefitsthroughreading.
总之，我们能够通过读书收获很多。
说起读书，很多人都很兴奋，读书不仅能带给他们知识，而且也能带给他们娱乐。
通过读书，我们能得到很多信息，了解我们的历史。
但是对于一部分人来说，阅读并不是他们的首选。
他们会选择看电影来找乐子。
但是，我认为，读书能让我们获益。
第一，读书能让我们知道历史。
历史都被记录在数中，如果我们读书的话，我们不仅能了解历史，而且我们也能更加了解时代伟人。
第二，读书能让我们丰富我们的知识。
通过读书，我们能了解很多事物，了解到事件是怎么发生的，怎么避免不利事件的发生。
书本记录着社会的方方面面。
通过读书，我们能了解生活的方方面面的知识。
第三，我们能通过读书来学习一些技能。
很多书都是写关于怎么学会一门语言，怎么找到一份好工作，怎么让自己在圈子中更受欢迎以及怎么烹饪等之类的东西。
通过这些书，我们能在做事的时候更加熟练。

推荐一些英文学习有关的书
受朋友邀请推荐一些和英文学习有关的书，我从我这几年来学英语的经历来分享一下我读过的，对我有所帮助的书。
以下内容非常个人，大家可以按需吸收。
以下我提到的书，如果感兴趣的话我推荐你购买纸质版，花钱买书是最好的投资。
当然也可以去网上搜电子版，只是请不要问我去哪里下载。

有关如何学单词这个话题我已经写过很多文章来说明:

我们来背单词吧
一味的追求词汇量是学习的一个误区，就像是我们认识很多汉字并不代表汉语水平就高。
但是词汇量的确是学习的一个基础，初期需要刻意地学习。
我刚开始学英语的时候也不知道从何下手，我选择的是背字典被词汇书，熬过了这一关，我就上道了--当我们还没有实力应用技巧的时候，笨方法就是最好的方法。
如果正在准备的话，就买这个考试对应的词汇书，随便买一本就行（这样的书大都是直接的汉英释义，简单粗暴），用半个月的时间对这本书的80%词汇做到“见到就知道什么意思”。
这个过程枯燥无聊，但这是必经之路--很可能这个过程中记得词都会忘记了，没关系，先混个脸熟为以后的进一步掌握打好基
础。
如果你的基础已经够好了，也不要骄傲，我们可以用这一类的词汇书籍来查漏补缺。
主要目标不是为了考试，而是刻意地学习单词的话可以看这三本书：
VerbalAdvantage
Merriam-Webster’sVocabularyBuilder
WordPowerMadeEasy
这三本书都全是英文，有一定的难度，很难坚持读完（我至今还没有读完）。
书中配有对应的联系可以帮助我们记忆。
读这一类的书我的意见是先把书通读一遍，把一些自己已经认识的词复习一下，对从来没见过的词先建立第一印象消除陌生感，不要指望一口气吃个胖子。
如果这三本书读起来有困难可以试一试这两套书：
牛津英语词汇（OxfordWordSkills）
剑桥英语在用系列（EnglishVocabularyinUse）
这两套书是国内出版社引进的，编排的顺序很好，价格便宜，每天学一点即可。
TheGreatCourses上有一个关于学单词的课，叫BuildingaBetterVocabulary，有视频和对应的pdf资料。
这个难度比较大，适合词汇量在1w以上的朋友。
除了学习这些词汇外，更重要的是学习它的方法。
我没有读过有关通过词根学单词的书，因为对我来说我觉得很麻烦（可能是我的打开方式不对）。
如果要通过词根学单词的话，在这里推荐《没有词是一座孤岛--溯源解义学单词》，这本书已经成为了我的睡前读物。
关于语法学习类的中文书，我推荐：
张满胜的《英语语法新思维》系列（共三本，比较全面）
叶永昌主编的《英语阅读参考手册》
陈用仪的《英语常用词疑难用法手册》
《COBUILD英语语法大全》（这本书的思路很有意思）《新编大学英语语法》（英专的教科书，可以通读一遍）
英文语言的：
剑桥出版的EnglishinUse的中级（不推荐高级）PracticalEnglishUsage（必备神书，appstore有对应的app
版）
Fowler’sModernEnglishUsage
这三本书是比较权威的参考书，比较靠谱。
语法书这方面国外的出版物不太适合我们把英语当作外语的人，但是也可以看一看来查漏补缺，了解一些母语人士常犯的语法错误。
这方面的书我推荐：
WoeisITheBlueBookofGrammarandPronunciation
GrammarGirl系列（有对应的网站和Podcast可以使用）
TheSenseofStyle（这本书有些难度，作者StevenPinker
是位语言学家）
