本节课的教学内容为PEPBook5中Unit4PartA的第一课时。
能力目标：
1、学生能正确运用字母组合拼读规律读出新词。
2、作为一堂任务型语言课，本课时要求学生不仅掌握新词，还能用几句连贯的英语向别人介绍自己会做的事情。
知识目标：
1、能听懂会说短语：
sweepthefloor,cleanthebedroom,cookthemeals,watertheflowers,emptythetrash。
2、能用句型“I’mhelpful.Ican….”表达自己会做的事情并能在会话情境中运用。
3、激发学生的自信心，让学生明白“Believeyourself!

情感目标：
激发学生的自信心，通过观看“神州六号”的回归的图片让学生对祖国感到自豪。
教学重点：
1、能听懂会说短语sweepthefloor,cleanthebedroom,cookthemeals,watertheflowers,emptythetrash。
2、能用句型“I’mhelpful.Ican….”表达自己会做的事情。
教学难点：
1、短语emptythetrash的认读。

教材分析
本单本单元的教学重点是有关家务劳动的表达方法，主要句型是Whatcanyoudo?
Icansweepthefloor.大部分的动词词组在四年级的课文中已经出现过，因此，在教学中，教师应注意以旧引新，并结合实际，鼓励学生在家做适量的家务劳动，帮助身边有困难的人。
在本课中，主要任务是阅读课文，找出主人公在做什么事情；再通过角色的扮演，进一步理解课文对话。

学情分析
本节课的授课对象是小学五年级的学生，他们已具备了一定的英语基础，初步掌握了运用所学语言进行交际的能力。
在学习中，由于各种原因，经常会遇到各个学生学习程度不同的情况，久而久之，便会出现优生与后进生的参差不齐的现象。
学习好的学生在课堂中比较积极，兴趣高涨；部分学生对英语不感兴趣，学习有困难。
因此，在教学设计上要兼顾各个层面的学生。
