Wealwaysconvinceourselvesthatlifewillbebetterafterwegetmarried,haveababy,thananother.Thenwearefrustratedthatthekidsaren'toldenoughandwe'llbemorecontentwhentheyare.Afterthatwe'refrustratedthatwehaveteenagerstodealwith.wewillcertainlybehappywhentheyareoutofthatstage.

Wealwaystellourselvesthatourlifewillbecompletewhenourspousegetshisorheracttogether.whenwegetanicecar,andareabletogoonanicevocationwhenweretire.Thetruthis,there'snobettertimethanrightnow.Ifnotnow,when?

ourlifewillalwaysbefilledwithchallenges.It'sbesttoadmitthistoourselvesanddecidetobehappyanyway.

OneofmyfavoritequotescomesfromAlfredSouza.Hesaid."foralongtimeithadseemedtomethatlifewasabouttobegin-reallife.Buttherewasalwayssomeobstacleintheway,somethingtobegottenthroughfirst,someunfinishedbusiness,timestilltobeserved,adebttobepaid.

Thenlifewouldbegin.Atlastitdawnedonmethattheseobstaclesweremylife."Thisperspectivehashelpedmetoseethatthereisnowaytohappiness.Happinessistheway.Sotreasureeverymomentthatyouhave.

Andrememberthattimewaitsfornoone.Sostopwaitinguntilyoufinishschool,untilyougobacktoschool;untilyougetmarried,untilyougetdivorced;untilyouhavekids;untilyouretire;untilyougetanewcarorhome;untilspring;untilyouarebornagaintodecidethatthereisnobettertimethanrightnowtobehappy….

Happinessisajourney,notadestination.So,worklikeyoudon'tneedmoney,lovelikeyou'veneverbeenhurt,Anddancelikenoone'swatching.

WhenBritain'sgreatPrimeMinister,SirWinstonChurchill,wasyoung,heattendedapublicschoolcalledHarrow.Hewasnotagoodstudent,andasmatteroffact,hadhenotbeenthesonofafamousleader,heprobablywouldhavebeenthrownoutoftheschoolforhisoffences.However,hecompletedhisworkatHarrow,wentontotheUniversity,andthenhadasuccessfulcareerintheBritishArmy,touringbothAfricaandIndia.HelaterwaselectedprimeministerandbroughtgreatcouragetoBritainthoughhisspeechesandotherworkduringthedarkdaysofWorldWarII.

Towardtheveryendofhisperiodasprimeminister,hewasinvitedtoaddresstheyoungboysathisoldschool,Harrow.Inannouncingthecomingoftheirgreatleader,theheadmastersaid,"Younggentlemen,thegreatestspeakerofourtime,ourprimeminister,willbehereinafewdaystoaddressyou,andyoushouldobeywhateversoundadvicehemaygiveyouatthattime."

Thegreatdayarrived,andtheprimeministerappearedatHarrow.Afterbeingintroduced,SirWinstonstoodup-allfivefeet,fiveinchesand107kilosofhim!

ManypeopleconsiderLincolntobethegreatestpresidentofalltime.Yetitshouldberememberedhowmanyfailuresanddefeatsmarkedhisearlylife.

 Tuckedawayinoursubconsciousisanidyllicvision.Weseeourselvesonalongtripthatspansthecontinent.Wearetravelingbytrain.Outthewindows,wedrinkinthepassingsceneofcarsonnearbyhighways,ofchildrenwavingatacrossing,ofcattlegrazingonadistanthillside,ofsmokepouringfromapowerplant,ofrowuponrowofcornandwheat,offlatlandsandvalleys,ofmountainsandrollinghillsides,ofcityskylinesandvillagehalls.

Butuppermostinourmindsisthefinaldestination.Onacertaindayatacertainhour,wewillpullintothestation.Bandswillbeplayingandflagswaving.Oncewegetthere,somanywonderfuldreamswillcometrueandthepiecesofourliveswillfittogetherlikeacompletedjigsawpuzzle.Howrestlesslywepacetheaisles,damningtheminutesforloitering--waiting,waiting,waitingforthestation.

Soonerorlater,wemustrealizethereisnostation,nooneplacetoarriveatonceandforall.Thetruejoyoflifeisthetrip.Thestationisonlyadream.Itconstantlyoutdistancesus.

5……TheTwoRoads

ItwasNewYear'sNight.Anagedmanwasstandingatawindow.Heraisedhismournfuleyestowardsthedeepbluesky,wherethestarswerefloatinglikewhiteliliesonthesurfaceofaclearcalmlake.Thenhecastthemontheearth,wherefewmorehopelesspeoplethanhimselfnowmovedtowardstheircertaingoal——thetomb.Hehadalreadypassedsixtyofthestagesleadingtoit,andhehadbroughtfromhisjourneynothingbuterrorsandremorse.Nowhishealthwaspoor,hismindvacant,hisheartsorrowful,andhisoldageshortofcomforts.

Thedaysofhisyouthappearedlikedreamsbeforehim,andherecalledtheseriousmomentwhenhisfatherplacedhimattheentranceofthetworoads——oneleadingtoapeaceful,sunnyplace,coveredwithflowers,fruitsandresoundingwithsoft,sweetsongs;theotherleadingtoadeep,darkcave,whichwasen
