然而今天的就职典礼有着特殊的意义。

因为今天不仅是一届政府向另一届政府、或一个政党向另一个政党的权力交接，更是把华盛顿特区的权力交还给你们，人民。

Fortoolong,asmallgroupinournation’sCapitalhasreapedtherewardsofgovernmentwhilethepeoplehavebornethecost.

一直以来，我们国家首都的一小撮人收获着执政的好处，代价却由人民来担负。

Washingtonflourished–butthepeopledidnotshareinitswealth.Politiciansprospered–butthejobsleft,andthefactoriesclosed.Theestablishmentprotecteditself,butnotthecitizensofourcountry.

华盛顿欣欣向荣，人民却没有分享财富。

政客们腰缠万贯，工作机会却越来越少，工厂纷纷倒闭。

当权派官官相护，我们国家的公民却无人护佑。

Theirvictorieshavenotbeenyourvictories;theirtriumphshavenotbeenyourtriumphs;andwhiletheycelebratedinournation’scapital,therewaslittletocelebrateforstrugglingfamiliesallacrossourland.

Whattrulymattersisnotwhichpartycontrolsourgovernment,butwhetherourgovernmentiscontrolledbythepeople.

真正重要的并非哪个党派掌控我们的政府，而是我们的政府由人民做主。

January20,2017,willberememberedasthedaythepeoplebecametherulersofthisnationagain.
