Twotechniqueshaverecentlybeendevelopedtosimplifyresearchandreducethenumberofnonhumanprimatesneededinstudiesofcertaincomplexhormonalreactions.Onetechniqueinvolvestheculturingofprimatepituitarycellsandthecellsofcertainhumantumors.Intheother,animaloviducttissueistransplantedundertheskinoflaboratoryprimates.Bothculturingtechniquescomplementexistingmethodsofstudyingintactanimals.
