2008BeijingOlympicGamesSummary:

The29thOlympicGamesin2008,from8to24AugustintheChinesecapitalBeijing,willbeheld28bigprojects,38sub-itemofthegame,produced302goldmedals.2008,therewillbemorethan20,000athletes,coachesandofficialstoparticipateintheBeijingOlympicGames.InadditiontothemajorityofcompetitionsheldinBeijing,thesailingcompetitionheldinQingdao,theequestrianeventsheldinHongKong,somesoccerpreliminariesinTianjin,Shanghai,ShenyangandQinhuangdaoheld.July8,2005,tobeheldinSingaporetheInternationalOlympicCommittee's117plenarymeeting,decidedbytheHongKongassociationwiththe2008Olympicequestrianevents,thesecondisthefirstOlympichistorybydifferentregionsoftheIOCcontractors.

The29thOlympicGamesOrganizingCommittee（BeijingOlympicOrganizingCommittee）wasestablishedinDecember13,2001,isthecontractorin2008the29thsessionoftheOlympicGamesandthe13thParalympicGamesorganization,responsiblefororganizingtheimplementationofthe29thOlympicGamesOfthe13thParalympicGamesandthepreparationandorganizationofwork.BeijingOlympicOrganizingCommittee'sleadershipanddecision-makingbodyistheExecutiveCommittee.

2008BeijingOlympicGamessignificance:

1.Chinaistheworld'smostpopulouscountry,buthasneverhostedtheOlympicGames.Ifthe2008OlympicGamesinpossessionoftheworld'sfifthofthepopulation,400millionyoungpeopleheldinBeijing,China,theOlympicidealsandspiritwillbemorewidelyspreadanddevelopment.

2.WithhostingtheOlympicGamesofeconomicstrength.Beijingisagreatpotentialfordevelopmentofthecity,overthepast10yearshasalwaysbeenadouble-digiteconomicgrowthin1999GDPoftheentirecityfor24billionU.S.dollars,percapitaGDPin2000dollars.

3.Outstandingsportsachievements.InthepasttwoconsecutiveOlympicgoldmedalandfourthmedalofthetotalnumberofgoodresults.Sofar,Chineseathleteshavewon1,317worldchampion,worldrecord1026,Super.

7.AbeautifulOlympicParkisdesign.BeijingurbanenvironmentinthenorthernpartoftheconstructionofthemostbeautifulOlympicPark,anareaof1,215hectares,ofwhichaccommodate80,000people,includingthemainstadium,the14sportsvenues,theathletesvillageandtheInternationalExhibitionCentre,togetherwiththe760hectaresofforestgreen,Competitionisverysuitableforathletesandtherest.

8.First-classcommunications,transport,hotelsandothersocialservicefacilities.Beijingatotalof344starhotels,72,000rooms（sets）,theOlympicGamesduringthereceptioncapacityof40millionpeople,theairport'spassengercapacity,for35millionpassengersontherouteconnectingtheworldofanynavigablecountriesorcities.

Amongthem,someoftheprojectsaresub-item,madeupofthewaterprojects,includingswimming,synchronizedswimming,waterpoloanddivingfoursub-item.Althoughthereisnobreakdownoftrackandfield,thereare46XiaoXiang,XiaoXiang24men,22womenXiaoXiang,theOlympicGamesisthelargestprojectinthegoldmedal.Thiswasfollowedbyswimming,althoughnobreakdown,buttherewere32smallitems,the16menandwomen.

RoggeisinNanjingtoattendthe10thChinaNationalGamesopeningceremony,madetheremarksduring.HesaidthatalthoughcompetitionisdifferentfromotherOlympicGamesin28majorcompetitions,butthisis,afterall,wushutotheOlympicarenaasamajorbreakthrough.

AccordingtotheStateGeneralAdministrationofSportMartialArtsManagementWangXiaolin,directoroftheCenter,Roggeisonthe13thinNanjingduringamediainterviewonBeijingfortheOlympics.ThisisRoggesaidwushuwillbecomethefirst2008BeijingOlympicGamesevents,butalsotoclarifythe"martialartswillbecomethe2008BeijingOlympicGamesperformances"hearsay.

theNationalStadiuminBeijingOlympicParkinsoutherncentralarea,in2008the29thsessionofthemainOlympicstadium.Thetotalprojectcoversanareaof21hectares,theconstructionareaof258000M².Attheaudienceseatsabout91,000,ofwhichabout11,000temporaryseats.WillholdtheOlympicGamesandParalympicGamesopeningandclosingceremonies,trackandfieldcompetitionsandfootballfinals.BeijingOlympicGameswillbeextensivepublicparticipationinsportsandenjoythemajorprofessionalsportsentertainmentvenues,andhasbecomealandmarkconstructionofsportsandOlympicheritage.NationalStadiumconstructionworksforpremiumsports,themainstructuraldesignlifeof100years,fireresistanceratingforanearthquakeintensityof8degreesmaximumsecurity,undergroundwaterproofprojectsgradeone.Themainconstructionworkswasoval-shapedspacesaddle,333meterslongfromnorthtosouth,294meterswidething,69metershigh.Themainsteelstructuretoformanoverallsaddle-shapedspaceforthegiantsteeltrusswoven"nest"structure,thesteelstructureofsteelfor42,000tonsofconcretestandsdividedintoupper,middleandlowerthreefloors,concretestructurestandsfortheundergroundfloor,Onthe7thfloorofreinforcedconcreteframe-shearwallstructuralsystem.Steelandconcretecompletelyundockedfromtheupperstands,eveneachother,formamutualenclosure,whilesittingonafoundationlinkedtothebasisonthefloor.NationalStadiumonthesteelstructureroofmembranecoveringthetwo-tierstructure,thatisfixedinthesteelstructurewindingbetweenthetransparentmembraneandtheupperechelonsofETFESteelXiaxianunderfixedintheinnerwalloftranslucentandthelowerdeckofPTFEacousticceiling.
