倒装句初探

通常情况下，英语句子中的主语都是在谓语之前。

但是，由于语法结构及强调方面的需要，有些句子的谓语或谓语的一部分要放在主语前边，这种句子就叫倒装句。

现把常见的倒装句加以归纳，供同学们学习时参考。

一、only位于句首并修饰状语时：

OnlyonceinhistoryhasthesamemanheldthetwohighofficesofPresidentandChiefJusticeoftheUnitedStates.历史上只有一次，同一个人拥有美国的总统和最高法官这两个高级职务。

OnlynowthatI’vestruggledtofindpatienceinmyselfwhenMatthewinsistshehelpmepaintthehouseorsawdowndeadtreesinthebackyardamIabletoseethatdaythroughmyfather’seyes.只有现在，当我努力要找到自身的忍耐性，而麦修却坚持要帮助我油漆房子或者锯倒后院枯树的时候，我才透过父亲的双眼看到了那一天。

二、So修饰形容词，such修饰名词并位于句首时：

四、介词短语位于句首时：
