此句中pat，protecting与putting三个以“P”开头为头韵的词放在一起，给人以巧夺天工之感。

3、辅音韵（Consonance）

辅音韵同元音韵一样，是跟元音韵相类似的一种修辞格。

4、反复（Repetition）

5、首语重复（Anaphora）

首语重复是反复的一种特殊情况，这两句中“all”和“last”的三次重复出现，使层次结构变得更为明显，使语言富有回环美、复沓美、节奏美和旋律美。
6、排比（Parallelism）
1.Istandheretodayhumbledbythetaskbeforeus,gratefulforthetrustyouhavebestowed,mindfulofthesacrificesbornebyourancestors.
这是奥巴马总统演讲的首句，以“humbled,grateful,mindful”三个平行的形容词来描写自己当时的心里状态，把自己的诚惶诚恐和感恩戴德之情抒发的淋漓尽致。

9、暗喻（Metaphor）

演讲者将繁荣与和平比作涌起的潮水和平静的湖水，
2.Whohavecarriedusupthelong,ruggedpathtowardsprosperityandfreedom.
Path比作是我们一路前行经历的大大小小的磨难的过程，比喻生动而恰当。
3.Thisisthejourneywecontinuetoday.
Journey一词译为征途，也比作是我们一直前进一直奋斗的这个过程。

十、转喻（Metonymy）

Hand指代友谊之手，fist指代放下屠刀立地成佛。

以witheyesfixedonthehorizon指代眺望远方，看到未来的方向，这样的描写让人总能自然而然的联想起作者所想要表达的真正目的。
十一、提喻（Synecdoche）

“missilesandtanks”意思是导弹和坦克，这里比作战争武器。
2.Letitbesaidbyourchildren’schildrenthatwhenweweretestedwerefusedtoletthisjourneyend,thatwedidnotturnbacknordidwefalter.
