句式1:

原句:
Itwasatimewhenthekillerwhales,or“killers”astheywerethencalled,helpedthewhalerscatchthebaleenwhalesthatwereontheirannualmigration.
那个时期,虎鲸—当时被称为“杀手”,帮助捕鲸人在每年须鲸迁徙时捕捉它们。
说明:
该句中含有一个when引导的定语从句,修饰time。
其中or“killers”astheywerethencalled是thekillerwhales的同位语,as引导定语从句修饰“killers”。
而thebaleenwhales又由that引导的定语从句进行修饰。
Itwas/isatimewhen…曾经、那时候/现在……,句型Therewasatimewhen…也表示“曾经”。
Itwasatimewhenmanyyoungpeoplewenttothecountrysidetogetsometraining.

句式2:

昨天我路过商店时看见他正横穿马路。
句式3:
with+宾语+宾语补足语

我坐在温暖的夜空下,手里拿着一瓶冷饮,回忆着当天的事情——这可是奇妙至及的一天。
“with+宾语+宾语补足语”在句中充当状语,表示伴随,原因等。

老师走了进来,手里拿着一本厚厚的书。
Withalocalvillagerleadingtheway,wefoundhishouseeasily.
有当地村民带路,我们很容易就找到了他家。
句式4:
beabouttodosth.正要做某事
Thiswasthecallthatannouncedtherewasabouttobeawhalehunt.
这是宣布捕鲸行动马上就要开始的呼声。
beabouttodosth表示即将做某事,一般不加时间状语。
ShewasabouttowatchTVwhentheelectricitywascutoff.
她刚要看电视,这时停电了。
句式5:
where...,therebe...在……地方,有……
Thewaterwasquiteshallowbutwherethereefended,therewasasteepdroptothesandyoceanfloor.
水很浅,但到了珊瑚礁的尽头,就有一个陡坡,一直下降到满是沙子的海底。
where...,therebe...在……地方,有……,where引导地点状语从句。
