Itisatruththatfeministgoalofemancipatingwomenisamightyadvanceinhumansociety.
Andtheexpansionoffeminismhasbeenfromtheeasytothedifficult,frommarginstothecenter,fromtheeasttotheworld,frompoliticstoeconomicsandsocietyandculture,fromthewhitetothecoloredpeople,frommiddleandupperclassestoallcircles.Suchchangesareinspiring.

Nowadays,moreandmorepeoplearepayingcloseattentiontofeminismSincethebeginningofastudyfocusingonwomen'
sexperiences,ithasfocusedonanalyzingpatriarchyandwomen'
slimitedpowerworldwide;
bringingwomen'
svoicesintoareasofknowledgewheretheywerepreviouslyabsent;
buildingtheoreticalexplanationsforwomen'
slowerstatusinmostoftheworld;
andworkingactivelyfortheempowermentofallwomenandfortheirultimateequalityashumanbeingsIncreasingattentiontoallkindsofwomenacrossdifferencesofage,socialclass,race,culture,religion,nationalorigin,sexualorientation,andabilityhashelpedscholarsandstudentstobetterunderstandtheexperiencesofwomenaroundtheglobe.
Nowthestudyoffeminismissteppingintoanewstage.Itseemsthatunlessunitingmen,womenwillnotgaintherealequalityandemancipation.Indeed,certainmale-dominatedtheories一Marxism,semiotics,structuralism,psychoanalysis一arehelpfultofeminism.Feminismisasubjectforwomenwhoare,precisely,itssubjects,thepeoplewhomakeit,itistheiraffair.Feminismisalsoasubjectformen,whatitisaboutobviouslyconcernsthem;
theyhavetolearntomakeittheiraffair,tocarryitthroughintoourlives.
Womenandmenshouldadjusttheirrelationshipandseekforharmonytoreachanewequality.
Andfeminismhasbeendevelopingfromatheoryintoasubjectinprincipalculture.Itbreakstheconventionthathumancivilizationisinterpretedonlybythemale,oraccordingtomaleexperience.Itprovidesthenewangleandmethodsforthestudyofnature,humanitiesandsocialsciences.Inthetwenty-firstcentury,feminismwillsurelyassumeamoreimportantrole.
2TheFeministLimitationsinPrideandPrejudice
2.1Women’sEducation
ExperiencingtheIndustrialRevolutionandlongNapoleonicWar,AustenwroteatatimeoftransitionintheBritishclasssystem.Asmoreandmorepeopleincommercebecamewealthy,divisionsinthehighersocialranksbecameincreasinglyirregularanduncertain.Thehereditaryaristocracywasbeingjoinedbynewcapitalistwealth,creatingapowerfulstratumatopthehierarchy.Yet,thoughclassdivisionswerebeingerodedbetweenthearistocracyandtheuppermiddleclassandbetweenthelatter,thelesser-landedgentry,andpeopleinbusiness,theworkingclasswasstill
