rightsmovementintheUnitedStates,includingMartinLutherKingandJamesLawson,drew

fromthewritingsofGandhiinthedevelopmentoftheirowntheoriesaboutnon-violence.

Anti-apartheidactivistandformerPresidentofSouthAfrica,NelsonMandela,wasinspiredby

Gandhi.PriortobecomingPresidentoftheUnitedStates,then-SenatorBarackObamanoted

Darwin’sOriginofSpecies
