Forfifteenyears,RachelworkedfortheUnitedStatesFishandWildlifeService,writingandeditingbooks.Fortunately,heremployerencouragedhertoreachalargeraudience.Rachel’spoeticstyleofwritinginthreebooksabouttheoceancaughttheattentionofthegeneralreaders.HerraregiftasbothaphysicalscientistandagiftedwriterearnedhertheNationalBookAwardforTheSeaAroundUs.
