a、PlainConcrete
Concreteisastone-likematerialobtainedbypermittingacarefullyproportionedmixtureofcement,sandandgravelorotheraggregate,andwatertohardeninformsoftheshapeanddimensionsofthedesiredstructure.Thebulkofthematerialconsistsoffineandcoarseaggregate.Cementandwaterinteractchemicallytobindtheaggregateparticlesintoasolidmass.Additionalwater,overandabovethatneededforthischemicalreaction,isnecessarytogivethemixturetheworkabilitythatenablesittofilltheformspriortohardening.Concretesinawiderangeofstrengthpropertiescanbeobtainedbyappropriateadjustmentoftheproportionsoftheconstituentmaterials.Specialcements(suchashigh-early-strengthcements),specialaggregates(suchasvariouslightweightorheavyweightaggregates),andspecialcuringmethods(suchascream-curing)permitanevenwidervarietyofpropertiestobeobtained.
