Iclaim:
1.Inamethodofproducingasorptivebodyforuseinfilteringairand/orineliminatingodors,providingairfreshening,andthelike,inwhichfinelygroundsolidparticlesofasorptivesubstanceoracompositioncontainingasorptivesubstancearemixedwithabindingagentandaretherebyboundintoacohesivebody,theimprovementcomprising:
combiningsaidfinelygroundsolidparticleswithatleastoneliquidsorbatebeforemixingsaidsolidparticleswithabindingagent,saidsolidparticleshavingporesandcapillariesforabsorbingsaidsorbate,saidsorbatebeingabsorbableinsaidporesandcapillaries,andtheconditionsofsaidcombiningbeingsuchthatsaidsorbateisabsorbedinsaidcapillariesandpores;
mixingsaidcombinedsolidparticlesandabsorbedsorbatewithabindingagentcomprisingasettablebindercompositioninaliquidsolvent,saidbindercompositionbeingsettableuponevaporationofsaidliquidsolventatatemperaturehigherthantheboilingpointofsaidsorbatesoastobindsaidsolidparticlestogetherasacohesivesorptivebody;
shapingsaidmixtureand/orapplyingsaidmixturetoacarrierbodysoastoformacohesivesorptivebodyforuseinfilteringairand/orineliminatingodors,providingairfresheningandthelike;
and,

2.Amethodaccordingtoclaim1,characterizedbysupportingsaidmixtureonacarrierbycoatingorimpregnatingaporouscarriermaterialwiththemixtureofclaim1priortotheapplicationofheat.
3.Amethodaccordingtoclaim2,characterizedbytheuseofaporoussyntheticfoam,fleece-likesubstance,orwovenorspunfabricassaidcarriermaterial.
4.Amethodofproducingasorptivebodyaccordingtoclaim1,characterizedbytheuseofatleastoneofthefollowingadsorptivematerialsasasorptivesubstance:
activecarbon,silicagel,amolecularsieve,bentonite,perlite,pumicestone,infusionearth,powderedfoammaterial,capillary-activefibrousmaterial.

Theinventionrelatestoamethodofproducingasorptivebodyfortheeliminationofodours,airfresheningetc,wherebyafinely-groundsolidcomponentconsistingofasorptivesubstanceorcontainingsuchasubstanceinitscompoundisaddedtoabindingagentbywhichitisfixedintoacoherentwhole.Theinventionisapplicabletoproductswhosemainpurposeistheeliminationofsmellsandwhosechiefuseisinkitchenextractor-hoods,air-conditioningdevicesetc.asafilterorasastaticairpurifierorfreshairdispenserorasinnersolesforshoes.
