Somescientistshavearguedthatitwastheresultofclimatechangewhileotherssaythatitwasdrivenbypressuresofagrowinghumanpopulation,orevenahugedisasterstrike.AccordingtoProfessorBrianHuntley,“Thechangingclimate,throughtheeffectithadonplants,wasthekeyreasonthatcausedthereductioninthepopulationandfinalextinctionofmammothsandmanyotherlargeherbivores(食草动物),”hesaid.
