Weevenlaughatthepremisethatthereisaconnectionbetweenorganisationandhappiness.Cynically,wewriteoffthosewhoarewellorganisedaslackingsomethingbetterdowiththeirlives.Theyareclearlytryingtocompensateforthelackofsomethingelse.Yetwhenwevisittheirhouseorperhapsseetheirofficedeskthereissomethingthatnagsatus.

Privately,wewishthingscouldbethatsimpleandclear.Thetruthis,ourownrattled,exhaustedanddistractedstateistheproof.Itisadirectresultofthedisorganisationandchaosinourlife.Thereisadirectlinkbetweenorganisationandproductivity.Thereisaconnectiontoobetweentheclutterofourlivesandallthegoalswewanttoachieve.

Freeingourselvesfromclutterwillhaveanimmediateeffectonourlives.Wewillfeelcalmerandmorerelaxed.Wewillknowwhereeverythingis.Wewillfindourselvesbeingmoreproductive.Wewillbemoreeffectiveinthethingsthatwedo.Wewillfeelmorecreativeandspontaneous.Therewillbeanincreaseinourvitalityandatthesametimewewillfeelcalmerandmoreordered.

Manyofuscanseethebenefithere.Wecanappreciatethelogicandthereasoning.Yetwestillpersistinthinkingthatthereissomefundamentalchemistrythatseparatesusfromthe'
