2003年6月，贾天将董事长以301万元竞拍收购了面临破产的中宁县化肥厂金属锰厂，并注册成立为宁夏天元锰业有限公司。
成立之初，年产量不到1500吨。
设备陈旧，工艺落后，生产成本居高不下，产品长期积压；
生产运营入不敷出！
面对这样的现状，面对巨大的责任和压力，贾天将董事长外出考察、调研、学习，高薪聘请行业专家，他坚信，只有对企业进行技术改造，规模扩建，才能谋生存谈发展。

2003年，公司开始对生产线进行改造，充分采取新工艺新技术，生产出纯度高达99.8%以上的电解金属锰产品！

2011年7月，12万吨电解金属锰新线正式投产。
