　　Thenewestimateofhowmanyplanetsmightfittheseconditionscomesfrom　studyingmorethan42,000starsandidentifyingsuitableworldsorbitingthem.Thescientistsusedthosenumberstoextrapolate（推算）totherestofthestarsthatthe　telescopecouldnotsee.
