近年来，广东卷语法填空题命题思路清晰、稳定，并且一直将测试重点定位在句式结构和语义关联上。
2013年广东卷语法填空题考查的语法知识点分布较广，其中有些题目涉及非常基础的语法知识（如：
定冠词的使用，介词的固定搭配，非限制性定语从句的引导词，形容词转化成副词等），考查的是初中阶段学生就应该掌握的语法知识。
同时，今年对连词的考查着眼在固定搭配上，在一定程度上降低了题目的难度。
三、阅读理解：
注重细节，强化主旨推理
2013年广东卷阅读理解题体裁延续往年风格，涉及记叙文，说明文和议论文；
且选材新颖，语言地道，充满时代的人文气息。
从网上测试的作弊监控，无声沟通，对成功的重新定义再到想象的正能量，无不紧扣当前热点话题，涉及社会、生活和人的发展话题。
材料的语言表述地道不乏俚语，措辞相对简单，却能给考生留下无限的空间，这就需要考生平时扩大阅读量，才能完全适应这种看似简单，实际却稍有难度的语言材料。
从测试点上（见表5），2013年对事实细节题的考查仍是主流，但对推理判断题也继承前两年的特点，稍有突出；
与前两年略有不同的是，今年考题更注重对主旨题的考查。
不难看出，命题者有意引导考生深层次体会文章的“中心主题”并品味文章的“弦外之音”。
四、信息匹配：
图文并茂，突显“工具性”
2013年广东卷的信息匹配题采用图文并茂的形式，围绕“阅读杂志广告内容，通过邮件咨询信息或求购”的话题，内容不生僻，有利于考生提取关键性信息。
与2012年试题相比，难度相当，相信经过充分的备考，绝大部分考生能准确完成题目。
五、基础写作：
热点题材，信息量适中
2013年广东卷基础写作题与新闻热点密切联系，具有很强的时代感。
同时，由于基础写作题所提供的写作材料比较新颖，为不加大试题的难度，今年的信息量相比近两年比较适中。
考生只要具备正确使用复合句、同位语和分词短语的语言能力，并能重视句子之间的衔接和语意上的连贯，一定程度上就能较好地完成题目。
六、读写任务：
生活写照，朴实见新
2013年广东卷的读写任务题基本上继承了前两年的命题思路。
在话题选取上，关注人的成长，尤其是学生在成长过程中所经历的一些话题，这就给予广大考生足够的发挥空间；
从阅读文章的长度上看，也与前两年的文章字数相当。
在写作要点上，今年的读写任务题突显了“虚拟语气”这一语法难点的高调回归，同时在要点的设计上，也有要求学生告别“建议”、“影响”、“经历”和“原因”等常规模板的倾向。
但总体而言，今年读写任务题的整体得分和难度基本稳定。
值得一提的是，近年来读写任务题中的话题在英语教材中多有涉及，这对于引导高中英语教学回归课本具有良好的导向作用和反拨效应。
在写作能力的培养上，也要注重培养学生议论文和记叙文（写作手法多为夹叙夹议）的写作技巧，做到有备应考。
综上所述，2013年广东卷高考英语试题能较全面考查考生的英语水平，对高校选拔人才，促进高中英语教学发挥应有的作用。
同时，2013年高考试题总体难度适中，没有偏、怪、难题，这对来年高三复习备考具有重要的指导意义。
