  Whilesuchexplanationsmaybecrude,thehardtruthseemstobethattippingdoesnotwork.Itdoesnotbenefitthecustomer.Nor,inthecaseofrestaurants,doesitactuallystimulatethewaiter,orhelptherestaurantmanagertomonitorandassesshisstaff.Servicepeopleshould“justbepaidadecentwage”whichmayactuallymakeeconomicsense.
