♦用名词词组引导的时间状语从句，引导词通常有：
thefirsttime,thelasttime,
nexttime,every/eachtime,anytime。
IthoughtherniceandhonestthefirsttimeImether.
EverytimeIwenttohishouse,hewasout.
NexttimeIseeyou,Iwillshowyoumynewdress.
♦用themoment,theinstant,thesecond,theminute,theday等名词引导的时间状语
从句，表示“一……就……”。
Shecametothescenethemomentsheheardthenews.
IrecognizedhertheinstantIsawher.
Thedayherhusbanddied,shegavebirthtoason.
♦once表示“一旦”。
Onceyouseeher,youwillfindwhatIsayistrue.
Onceprinted,thisdictionarywillbeverypopular.
♦bythetime句的时态。
bythetime+现在时，主句用将来完成时。
Bythetimehearrives,wewillalreadyhaveleftCalifornia.
bythetime+一般过去时，主句用过去完成时。
Bythetimehearrived,wehadalreadyleftCalifornia.
Bythetimehegraduatedfromhighschool,hewasalreadyanexpertatcomputer.
♦before的特殊用法：
Itwasnotlongbeforethestudentsrealizedhowdifficulttheproblemwas.
Itwillbethreeyearsbeforeweseeeachotheragain.（才）
Itwasthreeweeksbeforewemetagain.
Threeyearspassedbeforeweknewit.
2）原因状语从句：
because,since,as,for,considering（that）,seeing（that）,now（that）,notthat…butthat,inthat,not…because（不是因为）
♦由下列短语引导：
seeing（that）（鉴于，既然）,considering（that）（考虑到）,now
that,inthat,not…because（不是因为），notthat…butthat（不是因为……而是因
为）。
Seeingthattheweatherisbad,we’llstayathome.
Consideringthattheyarenewcomers,they’veaccomplishedalot.
Nowthatithasstoppedraining,let’sstartatonce.
Ilikethecity,butIlikethecountrybetterinthatIhavemorefriendsinthecountry.

3）地点状语从句：
where,wherever
Putitwhereyoucanseeit.
Youcannotcampanywhere/where/whereveryoulike.
Whereverforestsarewellprotected,thereareallkindsofwildlives.
注意：
where的定语从句和名词性从句。
Weshallgowhereworkingconditionsaredifficult.（状语从句）
Weshallgototheplace（先行词）whereworkingconditionsaredifficult.（定语从句）
Icouldn’tseehimfromwhereIam.（名词性从句）
4）条件状语从句
♦if,unless（if…not）,onconditionthat,provided/providing（that）,as/solongas,when
Turnofftheswitchwhenanythinggoeswrong.
Youmaygoswimmingonconditionthatyoudon’tswimtoofarawayfromtheriverbank.
Aslongasyoukeeptrying,youwillsurelysucceed.
We’llvisitEuropenextyear,providedwehavethemoney.
♦suppose（that）,supposing（that）,whatif,incase（以防）,given（that）（在情况
下，假定）,grantedthat（就算）
Suppose（that）Idon’thaveadayoff,whatshallwedo?
Whatifthemoneydoesn’tarriveontime?
Shegavemethekeytogetinthehouseincaseyouwereout.
Grantedthatheisnotbrilliant,heatleastworkshard.
♦祈使句/名词词组（，）+and/then/or+简单句（常用将来时）
Givemesomewheretostand,andIwillmovetheearth.
给我一个支点，我便能掀动地球。
Ceasetostruggleandyouceasetolive.你若停止了奋斗，你就停止了生命。
Onemoreword,andI’llturnyououtofthedoor.
Useyourhead,thenyou’llfindaway.

5）让步状语从句：
although,though,while,eventhough,evenif,whether…（ornot）
Whilehelikescats,heneverletthemcomeintohisroom.
I’lltrytorepairthewatchmyselfevenif/thoughittakesmedays.
Whetherwewinorlose,wearegoingtodoourbest.
Whetheritrainsornot,Ishallgooutforanoutingtomorrow.
♦although/though不可以和but连用，但是可以和yet,still,nevertheless连用。
♦while用法小结：
Tomisveryoutgoing,whileJaneisshyandquiet.（然而，表示对照）
Somepeoplewastefoodwhileothershaven’tenough.（同上）
WhileIwasreading,thelightwenton.（当……时）
WhileIunderstandwhatyousay,Ican’tagreewithyou.（尽管）
♦evenif从句中要用现在时代替将来时。
Iamgoingtoapplyforthejob,evenifitpaysverylittle.
♦让步状语从句whether句中必须用现在时表示将来时。
但是当whether作
名词性从句，表示“是否”时则不能用现在时表示将来时。
Canyoutellmewhetheritwillrainornottomorrow?
Whetheritwilldousmoreharmthangoodremainstobeseen.
由though/as引导的倒装句
Patientas/thoughhewas,hewasunwillingtowaitthreehours.
Boyas/thoughheis,hehasalargevocabulary.
Tryas/thoughhemight,hewon’tsucceed.
Fastas/thoughheran,hedidn’tcatchupwithhisopponent.
可用带-ever的wh-词，和nomatter+wh-的词引导
Whatever（Nomatterwhat）happens,weshallneverlosehope.
Ithasthesameresultwhicheverwayyoudoit.
Whoever（Nomatterwho）calls,tellhimIamout.
However（Nomatterhow）busyhewas,hewouldwatchTVsportsnewseverynight.
Whenever（Nomatterwhen）Ineedhishelp,hewillcomeimmediately.
Wherever（Nomatterwhere）weareneeded,wearereadytogo.
♦当wh-ever引导名词性从句时，是不可以用nomatterwh-替代的，例如：
Pleasegivethefilmtickettowhoeverneedsit.
6）目的状语从句：
inorderthat,sothat,forfearthat（生怕）,incase（以防）lest（以防）
Heworkshardinorderthathecangetascholarship.
Takemoreclothesincasetheweatherturns/shouldturncold.
♦目的状语从句的谓语动词通常用may,might,can,could,will,would加动词
构成。
♦在forfearthat,incase，lest后面常用虚拟语气,从句中常用“should+动词原形”/一般现在时,禁用将来时。
He’sworkinghardforfear（that）heshouldfail.
Heisworkinghardforfearthat/incase/lesthefails.
Takeanumbrellawithyouincaseitshouldrain.
♦fordoing不表示目的，但“forsomething”可用于表示目的。
WriteitinsimpleEnglishtomakeeverybody（不能用formaking）understand.
7）结果状语从句：
so（that）,so…that,such…that
例：
Theboxissoheavythatnobodycanmoveit.
Hehadsuchlongarmsthathecouldreachtheceilingeasily.
Theelevatorwasoutoforder,sothatwehadtowalktothe18thfloor.
♦sothat既可以引导目的状语从句，又可以引导结果状语从句。
其区别在于：
引导结果状语从句时通常用逗号同主句分开。
♦在so…that结构中，so后面常接形容词或副词，但在somany,somuch,so
little等后可接名词。
♦so…that;
such…that的倒装句。
倒装在主句。
部分倒装。
Suchlongarmsdidhehavethathecouldreachtheceilingeasily.
Suchanicewomanisshethatwealladoreher.
Somanyflowersdidheownthatweallenvied羡慕him.
Sofastdidhespeakthatwecouldnotfollowhim.

♦注意such…that状语从句与such…as定语从句的区别。
HewroteinsuchsimpleEnglishaseverybodycouldunderstand.
8）方式状语从句：
as,justas,（in）theway（that）,asif,asthough
SheisdoingherworkthewayIlikeitdone.
Hesatsilentlyasifheweredeepinthought.
♦asif;
asthough从句一般用虚拟语气。
但如果从句中所陈述的情况很很可
能是事实，也可用陈述语气。
Itlooksasifit’sgoingtorain.
Themilksmellsasifitissour.
9）比较状语从句：
than,as…as,notso…as,the…the,as…so…
Iknowyoubetterthanhedoes.
Wewalkedasfarasourlegscouldcarryus.
Themorepeoplewecanhelp,thehappierwe’llbe.
♦句型
AistoBasCistoD.Wateristofishasairistoman.
AistoBwhatCistoD.Wateristofishwhatairistoman.
AsCistoD,soAistoB.Asairistoman,sowateristofish.
.状语从句中省略主语的情况。
当状语从句的主语与主句的主语一致时，通常可以省略主语。
此类从属连词
有：
when,while,whenever,once,till,if,asif,unless,though,although,where,
wherever等
Thoughanordinaryworker,hehasmadesomeimportantinventions.（连词+名词）
Ifnecessary,ringmeatonce.（连词+形容词）
Whenyoung,Ilookedatthingsdifferently.
Oncehome,hetookoffhishat.（连词+副词）
Hehadanaccidentwhileonhiswayhome.（连词+介词短语）
Helookedaboutasifinsearchofsomething.
Sheopenedherlipsasiftosaysomething.
