Abstract

ThisthesisaimsatthestudyofthecausesofimpactonChinesemovieindustrymadebyAmericanmovies.Firstly,itanalyzestheobjectivecausesthatbringimpactonChinesemovieindustry:

ontheonehand,thereisabigdisparitybetweenChinesemoviesandAmericanmovies’quality;ontheotherhand,themarketoperationmechanismofChinesemovieindustryisnotbalanced.Then,thisthesisanalyzesthesubjectivecausesoftheimpactonChinesemovieindustrymadebyAmericanmovies:

Chinesepeople’stasteofmoviesaregettingincreasinglyAmericanizedandEuropeanized;Chinesepeople,domesticmediaandtheChinesegovernmenthavenotbeenfullyawareoftheimportanceofprotectingChinesedomesticmovies.Atlast,basedonthecausesthathavebeenpointedout,thisthesistriestoarriveattheconclusioninvolvingsuggestivestrategiesthatcanhelpChinesemovieindustrystepoutoftheawkwardsituation.

摘　要

本论文较为客观地分析了美国电影对中国电影业造成冲击的各种原因，首先，本论文从造成冲击的客观原因入手，分别指出了国产电影是因为电影本身质量不及美国电影、中国电影业的市场运行机制不完善以及结构不协调等原因，使中国电影业倍受美国电影的冲击。

在分析客观原因后，本论文进而论述了美国电影对中国电影业造成冲击的主观原因：

一方面，中国观众的口味日趋欧美化使中国电影流失了相当一部分观众；另一方面，国人保护国产电影的意识还很淡薄，无论是国内观众、媒体，还是中国政府对于保护国产电影的意识都尚待加强。

最后，论文根据已找出的几点原因，就如何使中国电影业走出困境提出了几点建设性的措施。

Asasuperpower,Americaisnotonlysuperiorinpoliticsandeconomicsbutalsoinculture.Today,peoplecanseeAmericanculturefloodhereandthereallovertheworld.Especiallywhenthespeedofglobalizationisfasterandfaster,therearemoreandmoreglobalvillagecitizensfollowtheAmericans’waysofliving,Americans’diet,theirstyleofwearing,theirwaysofspendingleisuretime,andtheyalsofollowtheirgreatmovies.ManyChineseareabranchoftheseglobalvillagecitizens.Asinvestigationsuggeststhat:

“Nowadays,AmericanmoviesattractChinesepeoplemuchmorethanChinesedomesticmoviesdo.”AmericanmoviesreallybringalotofimpactonChinesemovieindustrytoday.

BelowthereisagroupofdatathatcantellwhatabigpunchAmericanmovies,especiallymoviesfromHollywoodhasgivenChinesemovies,andhowmanyboxofficereceiptstheysweptofffromChinesepeople’spockets.

Fromyear2000to2004,Americanmoviesaccountfor40to50percentof4,332Chineseimportedmovies,andamongtheimportedmovies,exhibitedintheaters,thereare53percentmoviesareAmericanmoviesinrecentyears.

Ⅰ.DisparityBetweenAmericanandChineseMovies

Titanicsweptoffabout300millionRMBofChinesepeoplein1998whileChinesedomesticmovieswereinsuchanawkwardsituationinthatyear.AsaresidentfromBeijingsaidin1998,“inBeijingyoudon’tneedtoasksomeoneifthey’veseenTitanic,youjustaskthemhowmanytimesthey’veseeit.”

Theinternationalmoviemarketwasonceacake,whichHollywoodstudiosjustlongedfortakingasmallpieceaway.Notanymore.TheharvestisoutofAmericanpeople’sexpectationnow.InternationalmovieviewersspendmoretimeonAmericanmoviesthanontheirowndomesticmovies.ThisalsohappenedonChineseaudiencemarket.TheChinesemarketwasalsoonceaplacewhereHollywoodstudiostriedtopickupafewextradollarstoaddtotheirdomesticprofits,butnowyoucaneasilyseeChinesetheatersarefloodedwithmanyHollywoodmovies.FromTitanictoPiratesoftheCaribbean,almosteverystudentinschoolthathasEnglishcoursesisfamiliarwiththestories,whichthemoviestell.
