Contagious(传染的)yawningisrelatedmorecloselytoaperson'
sagethantirednessandenergylevels,US-basedscientistssaid.Researchersarenowlookingatwhethertocatchyawnfromotherpeopleisabornability,withthehopeofhelpingtreatsomementalhealthdisorders.
Peoplewithsomementalillnessesarereportedlylessabletocatchyawns,researcherssaid,sounderstandingthegenes(基因)thatareconnectedwithcontagiousyawningcouldopennewpathsfortreatment.
Inthestudy,publishedinthejournalPlosOne,328participantswereshownathree-minutevideoshowingotherpeopleyawning.Eachparticipanthadtoclickabuttoneverytimetheyyawned.Overall,68percentoftheparticipantsyawned.Ofthose,82percentofpeopleagedunder25yawned,comparedwith60percentofpeopleagedbetween25and49,and41percentofpeopleagedover50.
