ThetraditionalEnglishteachinglaysmoreemphasisonEnglishknowledgeratherthanpracticalability,ongrammarratherthancommunication,onwritingratherthanoralEnglish.Soitishardtofosterthestudents’enthusiasm,initiativeandcreativity.OnthebasisofanalyzingthosedefectsofthetraditionalEnglishteaching,thisthesisadvocatesanewmodelforEnglishteachingandlearning,namely,theInteractiveEnglishTeaching.TheInteractiveEnglishTeachingemphasizesapplicationratherthanusage,advocatesdemonstrationratherthanmonotonousgrammarorvocabularyexercise,launchesactivityorappointstaskratherthanassigningdullhomework,andunderlinescommunicationratherthaninstruction.ComparedwiththetraditionalEnglishteaching,theInteractiveEnglishTeachinghasaseriesofadvantages.Inaddition,atpresent,mostChinesestudentsbegintolearnEnglishsystematicallyfromthejuniormiddleschools.Therefore,thisthesislaysmoreemphasisonelaboratingmeasuresofcarryingouttheInteractiveEnglishTeachingintheclassroomofthejuniormiddleschools,suchascreatingfavorablephysicalenvironmentandharmonioussocial-psychologicalatmosphere,qualifyingtheteacherfortheInteractiveEnglishTeaching,anddevelopingthestudents’active,autonomous,andcollaborativeattitudeandsoon.
