Herfather,John,ranacrosstothehousewhileher15-year-oldbrotherPaulcalledthefireservice.Lorna,16,rushedacrossandcaughtupwithherdad,whohadjustkickedopenthefrontdoor.Theylookedupstairswheretheysawsmokecomingoutofthetopflat.Lornafollowedherfatherintotheflat,wheretheyfoundapanonfireinthekitchenandtheyoungmother,ManeLinn,whohadbeenasleep,lostconsciousnessinthesmoke-blackenedsittingroom.Lorna’sdadthrewawetclothoverthepanandthenturnedoffthestovebeforestartingtohelpManethroughthesmokedownthestairstosafety.
