solveproblemsandtheabilitiestothinkandexpressinEnglish.BystudyingAtthesametime,weshouldgetthestudentstounderstandsomedifficultsentencestocomprehendthepassagebetter.Thestudentswilldosomelistening,speaking,readingandwriting,too.

2.NowI’lltalkaboutmyteachingaimsofthisperiod.

Accordingtothenewcurriculumstandard,theteachingaimsaredividedinto3parts:

I’llmakefulluseofmodernequipmentsuchasthemulti-mediatomakemylessonmorelivelyandinteresting.Withtheaidofthecomputer,Ithinkthe

efficiencyofthelessonwillbegreatlyimproved.

Guessingandskimming

I’llgetthestudentstolookatthetitleandthepicturesandguesswhatthetextmightbeabout.Itdrawsthestudents’attentiontothecontentofthetext.

Askthestudentstoreadthepassageasquicklyastheycanandgetthestructureofthetext.Guidethestudentstofindoutkeywordsandsentencesorpayattentiontothefirstsentencesofeachparagraphtogetthemainideaofthetext.

Bydoingthis,Iwilltrainthestudents’fastreadingskillstoimprovethestudents’readingabilityandletthestudentsunderstandthegeneralideaofeachparagraph.

Task2:

Intensivereading

Thestudentsarerequiredtofocusonthewholetextparagraphbyparagraphtolocateparticularinformationandfinishtheexercisesonthescreen.

Theseexercisesaremainlysentencejudgments,choicesaboutthetext.Theyaredesignedfromtheeasiestonetothemostdifficultonefordifferentlevels’Ss.Thepurposeistotrainthestudents’skillsofscanningandtoleadthestudentstofindouttheimportantfactsanddetailedinformation.

I’llaskthestudentstofinishtheexercisesbycooperationandcompetition.Theyaredividedinto4groups.Ifastudentcananswerthequestioncorrectly,thenthegroupcangetonepoint.Andthegroupwhichgetsthemostpointsisthewinner.OnlythroughcooperationcantheSstastethejoyofsuccess.IftheSsknowtheiranswerisright,theywillbeconfidentandbecomemoreenthusiasticinlearningEnglish.Thepurposeistoimprovethestudents’readingcomprehension.Andatthesametimethestudentscanbecomeawareofthehappinessofhelpingeachother.Thusthestudentsreceivesomemoraleducation.

Step3.Post-reading

Listening

Playthetapeofthepassageforthestudentstolistenandfollow.Thenaskthemtoreadthetextaloud.Tellthemtopayattentiontothepronunciationandintonation.Atthesametime,theycanenjoythebeautyoftheEnglishlanguage.Anditcanpreparethestudentsfortheretellingthetextinthenexttask.

Summaryandretelling
