ItisuniversallyacknowledgedthatrhetoricoriginatedinGreeceabout24centuriesago.DuringthetimeofAristotle(384-332B.C.),rhetoricwasconsideredtobeoneofthefewimportantbranchesoflearning.ItwasAristotlewhowasthefirstonetodefinerhetoricastheartofpersuasion.Sohewasregardedasthefatherofrhetoric.Today,rhetoricisregardedasascienceofheighteninglinguisticeffectiveexpressions,andtheartofeffectivecommunication.Rhetoricstudiestheoptimalselectionamongmultipleexpressionsofthesimilarmeaning.'
Thepurposeofrhetoricistohelppeopleexpressthemselvesbetterandcommunicateeffectivelyinordertosecureadesiredresultbyemployingrhetoricalmeansefficiently.Thehighestprincipleofrhetoricistoadapttospecificsituation,thatis,"
