Buffalo(水牛)oftenblocktheroadsintheparkastheymovethroughthefields.Ifagroupistravelingacrosstheroadyouareon,youcaneitherwaitforthemtopassorfindanalternativeroute.Ifyougetoutofyourvehicle,theNationalParkServicesaystostayatleast25yardsfromanybuffalo(and100yardsormoreawayfrombearsandwolves).Buffaloareparticularlyunpredictableandchargepeopleatspeedsupto30mph.
Youcantakeyourbicycleonanypublicroadsandroutesdesignedforbikes,butbicyclesarenotallowedontheparkroadswhicharenarrowwithfewshoulders.Altitudesrangefrom5,300to8,860feet.
